Tired Out From Winter Prep

Cool pic as I've never seen a sleeping squirrel before. Even checked out google images and it turns out that they just like plop down.
 
I use a Crossman .177 pelet gun...nuff said. Those SOB's cause damage!

That lil guy is really crashed!

I get 'em sleeping like that on top of my grape arbor(s)...pain in the toosh...but cute.

The black squirrels are even better looking. FYI I was told by an old, old timer (not me), that they are cold blooded animals and what he was doing was warming up in the sun.

C'mon man, squirrels are mammals! I'll agree that he was trying to catch some warm sun on a chilly (pre-) autumn morning, but he's not a lizard on a rock.
 
Just to add...I've seen them laying like that in the grass with the sun on their backs. Like getting best of both worlds, keep the tummy cool and the back toasty.

They DO look like there are dead when they do that.
