Tires Needed -- Sport Utility

Ok ... I feel its time to replace the wifes tires on SRX. Its only got 22k miles, but lord knows each tire is patched twice or more due to nails and other construction debris. Infact, last week I picked up two drill bits and put them thru the rear tire.

I am not a big fan of Goodyear, even though all products from GM seem to offer them. I am considering the Toyo Proxies S/T. I have had two previous sets of Toyos (CTS, 02 Vette) and both left our fold prematurely and without seeing the entire life line of them. Truth be told, they have always started out quite nice, quiet, and super nice ride. They are quite reasonable in price and I can get this set for 500.00 installed and balanced new in 17's.

Any Proxie owners ?? Any SUV owners with tire replacements ?? Tell me more !

Go to tirerack.com if you have not already. They have tire surveys and some pretty in depth reviews to.

Sounds like to me if you want to get rid of the SUV in the future then get some.:D I don't have Proxis but I do have Toyo Open Country A/T and have loved them. Nice ride much better than the Goodyears I had before. Just wish I would have went with the Open Country M/T instead.

Yokohamas all the way hardest rubber tire out.
 
Michelins have offered the best ride and wear for me.
 
I had the proxes st on a 99 gmc denali. they seemd to wear really good and are a lot quiter than bfg's. the only drawback is their not so great in the snow, I think they are more suv performance oriented. great summer tire though.
 
I have Bridgestone RE750's on a 99 Pont GP
They are a summer only tire but you are not going to see very much snow LOL
They are a little soft but the ride is the best I have ever had, and very quite.
Make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment any time you get new tires.
If you mess up 1 new tire the alignment will pay for itself.

I buy Bridgestone's because they support racing, everyone has their own mental issues I just have more than most.

Michelin all the way.....These thing last....Look for the ones with the longest treadwear......

Toyo tires for 500.00 installed and balanced, that is one heck of a good price....
 
Michelin here as well... I'm running Mich Cross Terrains on the Cherokee, the ride and noise level are far superior to the OEM Goodyears that were on it. As for treadwear, I'm on my second set, got about 60k out of the first.
 
I got the Toyo's ---- 500.00 installed with Nitro Air out the door. While I too love Michellin the pricing and low life is just not in the cards. I had a set of XGTZ's that lasted 5000 miles on my R/A T/A.

Initially the ride as nice as the previous Proxie II's we had on the CTS and are quite quiet. The tread is quite aggressive looking, so we hope for win-win !
