I'm wondering if I'm flogging a dead horse here. I jet washed my wife's car with Megs Ultimate wash and wax this morning and then applied Meguiars ultimate compound with a da power system. Once dry I notices scratches all over the hood that look like it's been sand blasted. So my question is, is there a product that will repair this damage?
All advice appreciated.

The marks are called crows feet. The hazing is the beginning of clear coat failure. Not too much you can do except a repaint.

It's not crazing that I can see. It looks like sand has blown over the paint work. They're impact marks not cracks in the topcoat. Can I apply a black wax to fill them?

What Rsurfer said...those are crows feet. Unfortunately, the clear coat is compromised.

Thanks for the replies. So as said before, repaint is the only option?

Meguiars Black Wax will temporarily improve the overall finish and is definitely worth a shot.

This car is 7 years old. It is always parked outside in all weather from -30*C to +30*C. Will a wax slow down the deterioration of the paint? Is so what wax or other product would you suggest?

I think you're on the right track with the Meguiars Black Wax. It has alot of fillers in it so it does a good job of improving the looks.

Think of it as a hot chick with her makeup on. Once it wears off, simply reapply. Since you're doing all of this might as well claybar 1st if you haven't already done so.

It beats having to fork out for a paint job on a daily driver.

Thanks Eldorado2k, I have used a clay bar in the past on this car but not recently. Does compound do the same job as a clay bar?

The simple answer is no. And I couldn't care less about trying to sell you anything.. Clay 1st, compound or polish next. But don't try to replace the clay step by compounding, it doesn't quite work.
