Too Aggressive pad choice?

I finally got a chance to use my new PC. I applied 360 w/ a white pad, and it left me with some very fine marring and haze. Its not a big deal, but I want to fix it. It can only be seen in very direct sun, not under lights.
I think that the pad is what left the marring. Mistubishi clear is very soft from my experience.
-Should I just go over the car again w/ the gray pad?
-Will this have any negitive effects on the 360 already on the car?
-How long should I work in the 360? (I had the timer set for 3 min.)
-I was on speed 5, should I go to 5.5 or 6?

I have used 360 with a orange pad, with out any problems. But you can try with a gray or blue pad, and try to work the polish a bit longer. Remove the residue with a mf, if it is any. And crank the pc to 6, I always use 6 ;) That should remove the hazing.
 
I also used 360 with an orange LC pad without any noticable maring but it was on white paint which is much harder to see and I used a rotary on most of the car. I would try a small spot with a grey LC pad. I worked the 360 until it broke down and almost disappeared.
 
What I've read on here guys stop working XMT 360 right before it disappears. I've done the same at 5-5.5 and never had a problem with hazing but the clear coats probably weren't as soft as yours.
 
Thanks everyone. I will try it with the gray, and at speed 5.5 and finally 6.
I will set the timer too 5 min. I am sure a coat of LS would hide it. Its very minor. But I want to learn how to do it right. Hopefully I will get some pics also.
 
ya im supprised the white pad did that...but ya finish up with grey
 
That is surprising that you would get micromarring from a white pad. That must be some soft clear!
 
1- There is no speed 5.5 on the PC :)
2- I too am surprised that the white pad left any marring... was the pad and car thoroughly cleaned?
3- You could be working the product in for too long. I'm quite confused why people work in finishing polishes and AIOs for so long... they usually break down right away...
4- You could try a lighter pad or try the white again with a different technique: crank the speed up to 6, use little to no pressure and move the PC a little faster than you normally would. That should do the trick. Good luck.
 
Never had a problem with 360 on a white pad. 3 min. on a 2X2 panel seems too short of a time to break down. Try working for 5 min or until 360 breaks down or almost clear.
 
A1monky I may have misled you. Budman3 is right there is no 5.5 speed on the PC. Thanks Budman3. Can't believe that all the times that I've rolled that dial I've never noticed that the speed didn't change between numbers.
