Too many hidden products on Autogeek.

I have always wondered why Autogeek chooses not to show all the products they sell. By that, I mean when you select a category such as "Car Wash Products" not all car wash products show up. For example Duragloss 901/902 and NXT Wash. You have to type these products into the search bar to bring them up. I did not even know Autogeek sold Flitz Speed Wax until I found it by accident while searching for something else. It is not listed in the spray wax and detailing sprays section. Another example off the top of my head is Sonus SFX-4 Paint Sealant with Polycharger. I feel like some products are really hidden. It is disappointing because I know there are some products Autogeek carries that I don't even know about that I might buy. I also feel like I really don't know what all my options are when it comes to a particular type of product.

It's so funny you should mention this, I was looking for Duragloss 901 just last night and noticed it wasn't listed under car washes. I had to go to "Shop by Brand" and then found it under "Duragloss". I've noticed the same thing with waxes and polishes. Many times I have to look them up by brand.

I just remembered another example CarPro CeriGlass. It's listed under Exterior Care->Glass and Windshield Care, but there isn't a category under "Shop by Brand".

It's under "Cquartz by CarPro Innovative Nano Coats" :)

Shop by Brand - This way you can see all of the brands and all of the products.

AG has so many product it would overload the dedicated section pages if they listed every single product. And stuff like DG901/902 are good enough most people go looking for it.

But for instance if I wanted a good spray wax/sealant I would have to look through every brand that Autogeek carries to see what all my options were. This would likely stop people from trying other products that they do know about. I would rather have more of my options show up in the category listings.

Good Point....

I guess we could suggest creating even more direct / dedicated categories so they could list all the products. I actually like the idea of have a dedicated spray wax instead of trying to mix them in with other waxes.

weird thing is on main page it lists car pro products as "Cquartz by CarPro Innovative Nano Coats" but when you enter the store like go to bogo page or something it says "CarPro Innovative Nano Coats" i suggested they change it from "Cquartz by CarPro Innovative Nano Coats" a while back and its changed in some areas just not on the stores home page. but yes some items are hard to find, then they have really "hidden" items that are not even sold by AG anymore if you say click on a old link via the forums it will pop up product page that has a product ag dont sell anymore lol.

I know that Meghan and the team try to add each product in their respective category but remember often times products are coming in at full-tilt. Best bet is to send an email if you catch something that appears amiss.

I have had this happen too. I remember looking for products and not seeing them and then just googling them and they come up under Autogeek. haha

I wish Autogeek would endorse products or have an Autogeek's Choice in each of the categories. That way people don't have to browse through all the products and then search for reviews on all of them trying to find the best product.

Or if it might be a conflict for Autogeek to do it, maybe Mike Phillips would? We could get a list together and the forum members could have their say too. To see if there is a consensus. Or maybe such a list already exists?

Maybe there could be 3 levels of quality or something. Like cuts of meat, prime, choice, select. haha

Thoughts?

This is just like in the supermarkets, they put stuff they want to sell the most at eye level, the less desirable one would be at the end of the store or on top or bottom.

Shop by brand is definately the best way to go!!

^^ The last two posts are exactly correct. Like any other retailer, they push those items which they want to sell or have an overstock of, or are their house brands. It's normal practice anywhere you go really. But it IS inconvenient when items aren't in their proper category, defeats the purpose of having categories, especially to the novice trying to figure out what's available.
