For starters, here is what I am working with, 1996 Ford F-250, extra cab, Fire engine red. This past weekend I decided to break out my new "toys" and see what I could do to my old truck. I started with the hood, and after claying the whole hood did a few test spots and finally decided on Pinacle heavy swirl remover and a orange CSS pad (the hood was pretty bad with swirls and etched water spots). The combo worked great and removed most of everything but as I was applying the compound, every now and then it would sling little balls of compound out from under the pad. Did I have to much product or was the pad just getting filled up with all the years of crud it was taking off? Other than that it did a remarkable job on the hood.
When I get a decent working digital camera I will post some before and after pics of the rest of the truck.

Thx in advance

The product was building up on the pad and going into the center where it turns into little balls. If you clean the pad often, you won't get that.

I agree with these guys. How much product were you applying to your pad before each section?

I didnt think I was applying that much, maybe a line about an inch and half or so. When you say clean the pads, are you talking about the wash and air dry thing or is there something else?

Thx

Clean on the fly with pad brush or terry towel. BTW instead of line of product through middle of pad try three dabs (same amount) near the edges of pad. Product migrates to center of pad so don't start it there
