Took the plunge...

Seriously a big consideration when purchasing one of these.

149.99 is a lot of money but when you consider going to 300~400 dollars for a machine polisher you do a lot more thinking then you would do for XP/GG/G110.

I hope you enjoy it Shane, and hope it brings you years of good service.

Well, according to tracking info, my package got its Destination Scan at 5:58 PM in Knoxville, TN. I feel so close to it, and yet so far away! Aauugghhhh! I know what I'll be thinking about all day at work tomorrow. :work:

Welcome to the Flex club!! It truly is a great polisher. I have a PC but the Flex makes it seem like a toy. You will be very happy you bought it.. Congratulations!!

The flex is a dream to use and even better with the smaller backing plate!

A few pics of my order:

Behold the beast! I think she needs a name though. Any suggestions?

Now I need to polish something! :buffing:

Awesome Shane, too bad it didn't come in time for your sisters Honda.

You are going to be very happy with this machine. Remember to add a few drops of oil on the felt ring just to play it safe.

:props:

Congratulation Shane on your purchase man!

Also how is it compared to the other polishers you have in size? I never noticed because I thought it was big but when reading on the only forum about the PE vs 3401 people where putting pros that the 3401 was a pretty small polisher.

and damnit I forgot the order the MF large towels with my last order:(

Actually it belongs to my parents, my sister is just driving it for now. ;)

BTW, what kind of oil should I use, and how/where exactly do I apply it? That actually brings up another question I've been meaning to ask - how do you know when you need to replace your brushes, and where do you get replacement brushes from?

Here's a couple of pics of the Flex 3401 next to my G110v2:

so you can see it is definitely bigger than a regular DA. Surprisingly though, the weight difference is negligible: 5.73 pounds for the Flex versus 5.5 pounds for the G110v2. I held one in each hand and then switched hands and could not tell a discernable difference weight-wise between the two.

By the way, don't feel bad. I forgot 4 inch Hydro-Tech pads on my last order. Oh well, just an excuse to order again!

Thanks for the pictures Shane :xyxthumbs:

Nice purchase Shane! Wish that was in my shipment. Thanks for the pictures comparing the two polishers ..... made me want a flex even more. I'll be watching for your review.
