12. An understanding wife.

Hey I have all of that listed above!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. ONR or similar rinseless wash. It has so many uses beyond the obvious.

2. Website

3. Megs M205. Megs M205 is the most versatile on the market in my opinion. You can can, polish, and jewel with it based on technique.

4. Steamer. Another great versatile tool.

I agree with points brought up by AGOatemywallet as well.

1. Optimum Car Wax - A real LSP in an easy spray form. Other lesser spray waxes for maintenance.

2. Clay mitt or other clay alternative - It's just so much quicker.

3. d-limonene(citrus) based degreaser/tar remover- APCs suck compared to these for real degreasing, and much more pleasant to use than solvent based ones.

4. Spray sealant - Just so easy

5. Waterless/Rinseless/Detailer/Clay lube product - Just so versatile

1. HD Adapt/Speed combo
2. Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge
3. Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash
4. ONRWW
5. Edgeless MF Towel from TRC

3. d-limonene(citrus) based degreaser/tar remover- APCs suck compared to these for real degreasing, and much more pleasant to use than solvent based ones.

Which one do you recommend?

No particular order

1. Grit Guards
2. Quality car shampoo (pick your favorite)
3. DA polisher and pads (pick your favorite)
4. Quality assortment MF towels (pick A LOT of your favorite)
5. Quality sealant or wax (you get the picture)

Either by luck or subconsciously I actually listed them in order:) missing polishes and interior stuff, but how many of us could pick just five items to detail a car.

1. A natural love for detailing vehicles. Even though it will most likely feel more like work than love... I believe you better had started from love or else why would you make a commitment to be a detailer? For the money? Pfft...

2. An open mind to be willing to try new products that may be new to you./The ability to breakaway from any fanboyism in exchange for better results.

3. The common sense to know which tools/products are truly worth investing in, and making sure they're part of your arsenal... And also the common sense to weed out which product/tools are flat out a bunch of hype and can be had for much less with superior results. [they actually exist]

4. Hard work, determination, honesty.
It's not about bragging about having detailed a Ferrari, or posting some youtube videos with cool intro music, nor is it amassing a long list of fake positive reviews on some "trendy" website... At the end of the day it's loyal repeat customers that are your bread and butter.

5. The gift of gab.

Which one do you recommend?

3D Orange 88 Citrus Degreaser

$16/gallon, recommended dilution 10:1 for light cleaning, and 4:1 for heavy.

I use it for wheels, tires, wheel wells, nasty engines, grime on underside of hood, and spot treating oil/grease stains on carpets. Also works on pen/marker stains at higher concentrations.

In no particular order.

Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+
Meguiars D156
Wolfgang Füzion
3D HD Speed
Finish Kare 1000P
