I applied Powerlock on my car about a month ago and was able to apply only one coat. Our garages here are NOT completely closed so could not apply the second coat after 12 hrs as suggested.

Before when I had meguairs ULW on the car I would top with UQD after every wash to aid in drying and to boost the ULW.

Can this be used with the power lock as well? The water here in Dubai is hard, with temps of about 40 degrees celcius (104F) all day long so water dries way too quickly.

My aim to is to extend the life of powerlock + aid in drying and eliminating water spots and towel scratches from using dry towels.

If only menz made a detail spray to top PL with :(

Feed back please

For my clients that get the Menz PowerLock treatment I offer them a maint package/after care kit which includes a 16oz bottle of Duragloss Aquawax to help as a drying aid. No complaints so far and I myself have used it in conjunction with MPL without any issues.

Like i said, its not available here in Dubai. Just want to know if what I have works..
Both Meguiar's ULW and Menzerna Powerlock
are Sealants.

As such:
UQD, itself, shouldn't harm the Powerlock in any
form or fashion. UQD's ingredients are just a little
bit of IPA, and some of Meguiar's Trade Secret
conditioners...all mixed up in some water.

Therefore...IMHO:
UQD will be more than sufficient for at least
the two detailing-tasks you have stated.

However:
Next time you make an AGO purchase, that would
be a good opportunity to you include either (or all)
of these Menzerna Spray Products...if you would so
desire to do so, that is.

:iagree:

However I personally wouldn't consider Menzerna TI as a QD. Instead for me, I use it as a control agent in the same way IPA is used to help remove excess compound if need be to check my work after compounding/polishing.

The discussion concerning the purpose of Menzerna Top Inspection was brought up in the tech academy I attended prior.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...nding-menzerna-headquarters-tech-academy.html

The same thing was brought up. What purpose is Top Inspection supposed to serve if there is already a QD in the line up? It was said by the Menzerna techs that Top Inspection was formulated as a cleaning agent to help remove excess product, dried up product on the surface, or for inspection of your work after a polishing session. Now that the brand has relabeled the entire range, Top inspection was renamed to Control Cleaner to eliminate any confusion.

Taken from the Menzerna USA website, "One of the challenges of ensuring complete defect removal is the ability to inspect the surface for any areas requiring additional polishing. Since the polishing process itself can mask these remaining areas with compound residue it is necessary to completely clean the surface. Top Inspection was developed specifically for this purpose. Top Inspection contains no silicone, is completely safe for use in paint areas, body shops, and finessing areas. It is perfect for new car showrooms to eliminate fingerprints, dirt, dust and grime and will leave a perfect finish. It is available in a convenient 500ml spray bottle".

Menzerna Control Cleaner. "Cleaning spray for especially thorough polishing. The ultimate pre-cleaner to support the visual inspection of the coating surface being worked on. Removes polish residues, grease and contaminants prior to sealing".

You can use Menzerna Top Inspection any way you wish. However just know what exactly this product was formulated for.

Mike

Alright...
I feel almost as if I've been exonerated.:)

I've used Menzerna's Top Inspection in both
of the below methods, exactly as it has been
stated to have been formulated to be used...
per: the Menzerna Techs:

I. "Inspection" agent
II. "QD" agent

II. Menzerna Europe

"Top Inspection was formulated as a cleaning agent to help remove excess product, dried up product on the surface, or for inspection of your work after a polishing session."

Hasn't "Top Inspection" just been renamed
for the latest round of Menzerna's relabeling?

I don't see where it's been reformulated
to be a different type of product.

:dunno: ...for sure.
