I like buying things. A lot.

This past year I bought a Flex 3401, a mother load of pads and MF towels, waxes, cleaners, applicators, you name it.

I even bout a Mytee Lite II.

I just bought a Tornador Black. I should get it today in the mail.

Now, I'm looking at the Tornador foam cannon. It looks neat. Lots of foam. It seems that it can be controlled somewhat.

But is it necessary? Or just a luxury item that you can pass on?

I already have a foam cannon for my pressure washer, so I'm not planning on using the foam gun for exterior cleaning. More like interior carpet and stuff. Will the tornador black be all that I need (want).

No it is not necessary, however I have one and use it mostly on interiors. I find that it is great for express interior shampooing. It basically replaces expensive aerosol products, the foam it produces allows for more dwell time on the surface. Also if you are detailing as a business customers seem to be impressed by the use of this equipment.

I do not use it for applying soap to the exterior of a vehicle for washing since I have found you would have to refill the container a 2nd time to get enough soap to wash the average vehicle, also the soap is not wet enough, so I use a foam canon on my pressure washer for the exterior.

I don't have the Tornador foam gun, but I do have the Black. I like it and I am not sure where the foam gun would come in handy. If I am trying to foam the carpet, the foam would probably be a bit dry if just foamed with air, so not sure if it would penetrate at all. If you do buy it, comment on your experience.

You guys realize that "foam" is a by-product of the actual cleaners? Foam therefore, while it may look neat and cool, has no cleaning properties in and of itself.

I had a hard time grasping this years ago because we have been conditioned to equate foam with cleaning but those heaps of foam are as I stated a by-product of the cleaners and also marketing.

The "foam" is composed of the cleaner and air

The advantage of a foam product when doing a light surface cleaning of carpets and upholstery, is that it does not wet down the interior

The foam does allow for a longer dwell time as the bubbles insulate the cleaner that is at the surface from drying out

And it looks cool too

All that being said, I have a Tornador Air Foamer and have not ever used it

Leviathan, let me help you out here.
The question, "Is it necessary?" could be replaced with, "If I buy this, will I starve? Of course not, go ahead buy it!
(Soothing Voice): You deserve this. After all, you do work hard, don't you?
