Ok I would like to get the tornador but don't want to take a big tank for mobile details.
would this work... Makita mac5200 6.9 scfm 3hp 5.2 gal

6.5 @ what PSI?

The Tornador Black (the better one) needs 5 SCFM @ 70-80 PSI.

Then you are good to go. For the longest time I ran mine off of a 2.6 SCFM compressor. You had to be careful not to burn out the motor, but it works!

5.2 gallons of air will last a few seconds. Your compressor motor is going to be running virtually the entire time you are operating the tornador. I ran mine tonight on a 26 gallon, 2HP Husky compressor and found myself waiting for the compressor to catch up every few minutes. I had a slight air leak at the regulator but I was burning through air like crazy cleaning carpets and seats. It would probably work fine for doors and dash though.

The compact size of the Makita has me craving a small compressor for remodel cleaning.....windows and showers can be a ##### to clean without tools. I was almost ready to just buy one of these things but found two problems: The compressor allegedly struggles to run on 15 amp circuits (which I will face all the time in older homes) and the compressor appears to have an aluminum pump (which will make the compressor significantly louder). If you can live with those two drawbacks this compressor might work nicely. I'm still on the fence. If you buy it, please post back and let us know how it works.
