Haven't been here for a while and know very few of you, but I have sure have learned a lot and appreciate it.

The reason is not lack of gratitude, but, I have been diagnosed with diabetes and am pretty low energy. However, prognosis is good, and I just need to relearn how to eat.

And I justed wanted to tell someone, I have really learned a lot here and thank you.

Jeff

Good luck with your diabetes! I am sure if you commit to what the Dr's tell you, modify your diet, and get lots of exercise you'll learn how to manage it and feel great for many years to come! Good luck and welcome back, hope to see you around a little more often now!

Hey Jeff, I'm in the same boat. Don't let yourself get discouraged! Many, many people find themselves facing this everyday and I personally know a lot of people who have lived a great life after being diagnosed. Just follow the "rules" and you'll do great! Don't let it stop you from doing what you like to do. Besides, getting out and detailing your car is a form of exercise...... Just what the doctor ordered!

:iagree:Great advice. Diabetes is treatable and controllable, as long as you stay diligent with your diet and exercise, and especially if you are able to lose weight. Your doc should have already prescribed you 45 min of hand polishing and/or LSP application for your daily exercise!

your health comes first ... shiny cars second.

Yeah on his/her car LOL

I was diagnosed almost 4 years ago myself as a type 2. Did a 180 degree on the diet thing. Doctor put my on insulin injections...I told here I'd be off this stuff in 6 months, she said probably not. We were both wrong, six weeks later she pulled me off and put me on metformen (sp)....six DAYS later was off that and have been 'drug' free ever since.

So as others have said you can make a change and don't let it get you down. You can lead a perfectly normal life if you follow the rules.

Thanks for the encouragement to all of you. And thanks for encouraging me with my new main exercise routine.... detailing. Jeff
