ehh, i somewhat disagree. taking a filthy car and and bringing it to an okay condition is easy. taking a clean car and taking it a step further is where a challenge is posed. case by case scenario

hmmm I know what your saying but correcting a new car is actually quite simple. I don't call polishing a few swirls and chasing a few rids all that hard even if you do use some 3000 grit on them. This truck is no where near perfect or did he want it to be. Its his work truck and just wanted it cleaned up.

The truck looks great. If you don't mind I had a question about your process. Did you use SSR2.5 for correction and then pro polish as a finishing polish. I know you said it was one step but I was curious what the pro polish was used for. Thanks.

Sure, for the most part yes it was a one step with Pro Polish, there were a few places that had some pretty good scratches that I got out with the SSR 2.5. and a orange pad.

What did you use to clean under the hood?

You mean the engine or the actual hood. Either way I used an APC to clean it and the underside of the hood I used Mothers spray wax to spiff it up. I also use it on door jams.

Outstanding work man, that was one dirty truck.

I have a blue Toyota Tundra that someone wants me to do, a lot of swirls but nothing like the one you did.
This truck I have to do is a 2012 with only 2800 miles on it, he doesn't use it much but washes it often and that's the problem, he's just washing it the wrong way.

Thank you, Do it if you have the time. You'll find the paint is pretty easy to work with and responds well. While this was no correction job I did very good correction with just Pro Polish, green B&S and a 3401. So if he just has washing swirls you should have a pretty easy time with it.

You think that truck was taken to an "ok" condition? Looks damned good to me. Detailing clean cars is easy..

rops: It wasn't a total correction job but his reaction was the same as yours. Actually he said "the only time its ever looked this good was when I picked it up."

I would like to know how long it took you too. Can you give a few more details, like did you only use the steamer on the the console, doors, etc. or did you follow up with another cleaner?

Nope, spray with an APC, steam, wipe all done! No I used the steamer throughout the whole interior, carpets seats you name it if it was dirty it got steamed. Only thing I used APC on plastic, vinyl and carpet upholstery cleaner on the fabric.

I'm also interested in knowing more about the steamer, like what kind do you have and what your process with it is. Do you steam the panel, then wipe off grim/water with a microfiber?

Mytee Firebird and yes that is the process very simple actually. The only time you really need to use a chemical is for nasty greasy areas like this one had but most everyday dirt will come right off with just steam.
