Mike,

I have never detailed a trailer before. I have polish for the diamond plate, but as for the black material, i should be ok with my normal polishes right?? im going to try my Menzerna Finish Polish with a white pad, if i need more ill try it with my orange pad, if more, ill use SIP with orange pad and follow up with finish polish and white pad. then wax. Pics are below. any help would be appreciated!!!!! thanks!!

all graphics are vinyl, so those will be gone over seperately.

also, is steel wool good on aluminum, like the fenders, or jus stick with mother aluminum polish and mother cone?

(these are all cell phone pics...)

Small Trailer... Diamond plate is in bad shape, im going to get my dads FLITZ and try that out.

im also going to be doing 2 of the work trucks!! heres one of them. Toyota Tacoma
with a lot of miles. this will look nice when completed, with the trailer!!!!!! The other
work truck is a mid to late 90's Red Chevy 1500 reg cab long bed with hundred of
thousands of miles, LOL. but the red isnt in too bad of shape for the miles and age.
So everything is red and black, so that helps!!

Wow that should be fun! I have detailed a lot of diamond plate but never something with that much decals.
I actually helped detail a diamond plate piece on a trailer that was nasty a few years back, see link below, we used the WG polishes so the pictures are on those pages.

If you want to save time you a wool pad with the flitz on the Diamiond plate and fenders that how I do all my Diamond plate & aluminium polishing & if want to cut down polishing time use steel wool #0000 first to scower the area first. after polishing id the area still black use mineral spirts to wipe then with a new pad dampen with water use a little Talc powder & buff it will shine right up. On the Graphic s be careful I have run into some like that that are ink jeted and there supposed recoat with clear but it's not always done and if touch with a compound /cleaner wax it strips the ink off and you own it . Test it inconspicios area first by hand. Just me two cents LOL

yah i planned on the steel wool on the fenders. Im gonna try what i have on the diamond plate, see if it works before i try flitz. I need a wool pad. it in my cart, lol. Yah ill def try and inconspicuous spot on the vinyl first!!

Thanks man!!!

I always spray down the diamond plate with wheel acid before polishing. Cleans it right up but turns it white. After that hit the diamond plate with 0000 steel wool and polish then wipe it clean. Next step is to take the rotary with a wool pad and polish to a shine. Works great for me.

im good on diamond plate, im mainly worrying about the actual trailer, the black, not the diamond plate.

The paint on most enclosed car trailers is very thin and has no clear coat . Nothing like a car's paint job. If you use an aggressive polish and pad you may go right through it. Be careful if you plan on polishing it.

yah my first try is going to be with Menzerna Super Finish Polish on a white pad. see how that turns out!!
