After a long 2 years of searching for the right combo of colors, price, and mileage I finally came across a car that fit the bill. I got her all washed up last night and unfortunately the previous owners neglected the paint so it does need some help. Most of the damage can be corrected with some compounding and polishing. the side body moldings will also be getting removed. Others are going to need to be wet sanded to see if they will come out. As the car sits it has 4.10 gears and a SLP catback. Plans for the exhaust will be headers, cutouts after collectors, and dual 4 inch oval tips. The car will get lowered with new springs and struts. It will be getting retinted because the current tint doesnt look to hot. I'll also be getting the car tuned and the rear tails, fog lights, and turn signals tinted. I will also be getting RPM 505 rims down the road. I will be doing a SLP lip air intake or Volant havent decided yet. Maybe a cam down the road. Expect pics after I get it all corrected which may be a month from now with how busy I am detailing. I am already really enjoying being back in a V8 and this car is a head turner as it sits. Enjoy!

One of my favorite cars! And the color is beautiful. Here in Chicago, there are only red and black ones.

Awesome car! One of my favorites as well. Those LS1's are great and you can really make some serious power with some mods. Plus they sound fantastic.

You know for a body style that came out in 1998, wow that's 15 yrs old... they still look very modern. Heck I even like this style more then the vets or that time period.

This is my dream car. It's on my "list". I'm waiting for the right deal too. I have to have black or white though.

Awesome pick up! Very glad for you!

Love those! Been looking for one for awhile but most seem to be beaten pretty badly or they want waaaay to much for them. Very nice ride.

nice ride Derek! glad to here business is doing good for you! Cant wait to see some pictures of that thing all polished out

Awesome ride! The 10th Anniversary Firehawk is one of my favorites. I love that body style.

I love the fbody camaro ss and ws6. Wow! What an aweaome car. With the right suspension setup they'll handle like a vette and look 10 times better doing it. Sweet!

Yeah I love that color too, a nice set of 18" Torque-Thrust style wheels would be my choice and I'm looking forward to seeing what your wheels look like on the car. On a sidenote its funny how far perf has come since that car came out. When new the WS6/SS's of that vintage had 325 hp, now the new Impala with a V6 has 303 hp, amazing!

Nice SOM! I'm a Trans Am guy myself (see sig )I saw your thread over on LS1Tech a few minutes ago, I have a different S/N there though.

Again congrats. I saw your thread over on gpona and on ls1tech.

Nice pickup! We need to start an f body thread soon I've seen a lot posted by forum members. I have an arctic white ws6 myself. Be prepared for some very hard clear coat when you start compounding.
When you lower it and put some wheels on it it's going to look great!

Congrats! Gorgeous car, really like the color, almost like a copper shade.

Don't understand what side molding trim you wish to remove though?

I've had 2 TA's in my lifetime, an '84 (great car) and an '86 (worst car I ever owned in my life, a total lemon)

The 86 was real pretty in flame red metallic, but the dealer had that car more than I did. Hence the term "We build excitement, pontiac!"

Yep, I had blood pressure at the boiling point, and was looking to strangle every clown at that dealership. I sold the 86 with 3400 miles on the odometer, and I'm glad I did, I then slept nights.

My next car up after the 86? A mint 1968 SS396 Camaro in Lemans Blue, with Houndstooth Interior, Tic Tock Tach, Floor Consel, Spoilers, the works. That car was a breeze to maintain versus the red TA.

Here is my 01 Ws6. I've had it since 2001, and just recently compounded and polished it up. IIRC, this was after polishing and before LSP.

Nice find, BTW.

Agreed that there has been quite the change in the power levels 'average' cars come with now-a-days, but make no mistake, every LS1 F-body actually made 335-350 HP, regardless of what GM officially rated them at. The '01 and '02 cars were the strongest, but even the '98 Z28s and Formula Firebirds, rated at 305, made well over that.
