So the other day I had a detail that was covered in tree sap on the hood. I washed the car then proceeded to clay bar. I followed up my compounding the hood and waxing the whole car. However my question is it left what looks to be hard water spots behind. Nothing I did would remove them, any advice or tips? The customer was pleased with the job but I want to figure this out for any encounters in the future and for his next appointment. The car is only 2 years old so would really like to get it looking new for him!

Thanks,

Brandon Kozusnik

Tree sap will permanently damage the paint if it is left to dwell on the surface for too long. If the vehicle was completely covered with globs of tree sap it is very likely that the contamination was left on the paint for several weeks, months, or possibly years... in which case the paint has now been permanently damaged due to neglect.
