Tried the new Optimum Spray Compound and polish

Thats what I like to hear.
I have a pristine 2001 TA WS6 (Black) with 9K miles, that's going to be my winter project.
Now it's 80% corrected,i'm shooting for 95%-99% correction as there are NO deep scratches on it.I will be using my Flex XC with HT 6.5" pads and my PCXP with HT 4" pads and a mini-rotary (electric drill).
I ordered pretty much the whole Optimum line offering here on AG (including both Hyper spray twins) and $200+ in new HT pads to give a good go at it.
My AG shippment should arrive this Friday and i'm super excited to try them thru the winter!
You will be glad you waited for these products!

You're dealing with a hard clearcoat as you stated. Not sure if you work on other cars, but once you run into a soft clearcoat, optimum sprays will not finish as well. They were designed with hard clearcoats in mind. Also, HC uses 100% SMAT. HP uses SMAT and DAT. :xyxthumbs: Dr. G is a genius.

Any suggestions for soft clearcoats, other than 105/205?

I have used their finish polish on soft ass black toyota paint and had no problems finishing out halogram free with a grey CCS LC pad... once i learned how to use my rotary more appropriately. If they have a spray finishing polish it'd be that much easier but I have to say the finish polish is nice enough to work with already it doesn't require a spray :)

For soft clears I find that Menz SIP(or PF) with 106ff(or 85rd) works extremely well.

Thank Lasthope! Thank You Sir. Ive heard 85rd does work extremly well to, i havent had a chance to actually it yet tho.

I use Menz IP via orange/white pad on my Flex, then finish it with PO85RD with great results on my soft Honda black paints.

I will give another + to SIP & p085RD for soft paints. Amazing results.
