is there actually a trim detailer that won't washed away by rain? I only tried Megs Hyperdressing & trim detailer, the problem is that when it rains they kinda runoff and melt through the body panel and make incredible streak. I applied sparingly and leave it for an hour or two before wiped it with clean towel, but still doing the same. Is there something not right with the technique/product? thankx

I also posted in that thread and I think you'll be amazed by Ultima Tire and Trim guard plus if you've only used Meg's trim detailer and hyper dressing.

This stuff will last for ages!
 
Thanks...been reading into that thread as well, just wondering if there's an alternative method of applying Megs product that doesn't include streaks. If not probably different product is the answer
 
Agree with UTTG. I have a car with a lot of plastic cladding on the bottom and tried some products I was unhappy with (didn't last long). I am very happy with the Ultima.
 
The guys are right. Ultima Trim and Tire Guard hands down no question. Look at my response from that other thread.

PS: A couple months later that UTTG hasn't been touched. I'll share a picture later
 
I've been using Poorboy's World Trim Restore and Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant and have been very impressed with these two products. Over the winter I ordered some Ultima Tire and Trim guard plus and I'm looking forward to see how it steps up to the plate...

Because they're water based and don't contain any specific polymers to make them waterproof, they'll run no matter what.

If you want a Meg's product that is waterproof, then all season dressing should hold up better.
 
I wax the exterior smooth rubber/plastic trim on my car. Have had great results with DP Max Wax and Autoglym HD, trim looks good for a long time, won't wash away, run or streak in rain. Just be sure not to leave any residue in the corners/creases.

I'm sure the UTTG is awesome though... I mean, Corey likes it so you KNOW it's good! (seriously) :D :props:

Cee, UTTG is on my list...kinda costly, but I have heard and seen some great things about it, so...you know the rest of the story...I Gotta Try It !!

For those that don't want to spend the $ for UTTG..Meg's Ultimate Protectant is a good alternative.

You know GTechniq C4 is about 58$ per ounce right? I think its in a completely different category. Kind of a semi permanent coating (a couple years) from what I gather. Actually getting some this week. I'll have to leave it off one of the cars though or I won't have any faded trim to do reviews on. LOL... Like I said I haven't seen anything touch UTTG anywhere near its price range.

Get it right now for like 20$ Wendell! That is really cheap! The Megs Ron mentioned is great as well but you'll spend 10$ on that. 20$ compared to 10$ (both 12 oz.) but it takes a lot less UTTG per application and it is a lot more durable

:iagree: I just had the pleasure of using this for the first time and reviewing it a couple weeks ago but I think at the current cost of UTTG it is actually cheaper in the long run.
 
CEE DOG, yeah I know C4 is expensive, but it does work amazingly well! A little C4 goes a very long way.
 
Ok...i'll try asd first, but you guys certainly sold me on the UTTG, put that on my to-buy list already :D appreciate all the feedbacks thx

Bobby, IMO you wont let the others get another at Bat! MUP is great on running boards. It isnt slippery.
