Trim dressing that wont run?

I ended up going with CG new car shine premium dressing. It was a gallon for $20. I hope I didn't make the wrong decision.

You guys make me want to break out my fresh container of Sonax that hasn't been used yet right now even though it is raining ;)

Please let us know if it runs down the paint if it rains,
or encounters any moisture for that matter.

Thanks.

Carpro dlux

I second this recomendation as well. Dlux is basically a permanent coating, so it lasts, and lasts, and lasts. I would say I got easily a year worth of protection in the rough South Florida sun. I reapplied at a year, although I am not totally sure I needed to.

I do not find it to shiny or glossy. It shows its there once you apply it. I have never tried it on faded or worn trim so I cant comment on how it changes the appearance of that.

Ok I will. See my thing is I'd like to use the Wolfgang but it's $40 a small bottle. I'd be going through one of those in no time. I really hope this stuff doesn't run because its so cheap for so much. I will report back soon as it comes in.

Sonax Trim Restorer

1st rain, didn't run. It is a thick gel, I applied it very thin with a piece of paper tower on my molding. ( wish the tube was bigger/more), but if you apply very thin, 2 coats it will absorb/level out to a nice finish. Dark, yet natural looking...

Will it eventually run ? Not sure, but making it thru 1st rain puts it was ahead of most water-based dressings

So you bought a product that no one in your thread recommended?

I like Duragloss 271.

Lol yeah. I needed something that I could buy a gallon or so of that wouldn't break the bank. I'm actually very surprised with this product too. CG has been hit and miss with me but I figured for $20 I couldn't go wrong. So i put it through some tests and it's still holding up and hasn't ran. It's now my go to product for exterior trim on customers cars. Hyper dressing still has a place in my heart though. I now only use hyper dressing for tires and wheel wells.

I used d lux today on my avalanche, bumpers, tailgate and steps only. Cleaned it twice with APC then applied. Easy to do. Looks good so far, let's see how it looks tomorrow. If it last a year i'm sold. I used a very little of the product, trim was in good shape. Was impressed with the look although it was a touch on the shine side. We will see how it looks tomorrow.
Going to do the GF's jeep next week. That will be a good test for it. It;s only a year old but it seems that the plastic on the jeep discolors a little faster than some others.
UTTG I really like. Does everything I want it to do. I wont put a product on a customer's car if it's going to run. I charge for it upfront so its not going to hit my wallet. For me that works. I will upcharge for d lux if I'm happy with it tomorrow. however, can't charge the GF for it!

I now have quite a few and if I was doing this as a business I think PERL would be my regular and it's not far off in price compared to the CG you bought if you look at dilution 1 liter of PERL makes 4 liters of dressing.. Then the upsell would naturally be DLux or WGETS.
