I've been using Meguiars Ultimate Plastic restorer for a little while now until I run out, It does the job, however I feel like there is a lot better for two reasons 1. to get a nice uniform coat, it takes a good bit of product and some elbow grease to rub it in ( to me at least ) and 2. It lasts, but it does not last long, at all. At least not on the trim I have tried it on. Looking for opinions on other trim restorers, for everything from bumpers that are plastic to doorhandles etc. I dont wanna just buy whatever looks good versus hearing some good feedback.

Solution Finish for trim restoration. McKee's would be another option.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Have you heard any or any first hand experience with Blackwow? I've read up some good reviews on that also.

I have not used black wow. Seems to get favorable reviews.

I have used Solution Finish to restore trim and it does a great job. Probably can't go wrong with either one.

Here is an idea of what Solution Finish can do. This was the rear bumper of my brothers 99 Tahoe that he sold a few months ago.

Wow looks good what about g technique c4 trim restorer? Is it better than solution finish or about the same?

My favorite plastic process is to first clean it well before dressing/coating. My personal fav cleaner is 1Z (Nextzett) plastic cleaner restorer. Fully flush and dry. Then, Solution Finish.

GummiPfledge on soft rubber door seals every wash.

I will add that I used BlackWow for maybe 2-3 years before Solution Finish was introduced. BW is an excellent product and I was very happy with it HOWEVER...Solution Finish proved even better for me with regard to even coats and durability.

Again, my experiences.

I did all the engine plastic and the wiper cowling on my daughter's 2006 Lexus GS300 with Trim Solution. I'm sold on the ease of use and durability.

Not long, maybe 10 mins. Its a nice applicator bottle with the foam top like shoe polish. I run up and down my soft door seals with it.

Used blackwow for a while and whilst it brings black back, I never get on with it well.

I find it difficult to apply sparingly and oily when full coverage is reached. Tends to gloss to the surface on hot days.

Looked at G4 which seems to be the product I’m after, went with DLUX instead as it was cheaper and i had an order in with my carpro guy.

Waiting until I can get the blackwow out of my trims before a test.

I’d look at anything other than an overtly silicone based product.

I've tried others, many are worse than meguiar's. But if meguiar's is applied to a thoroughly clean surface then re-apply to a freshly washed surface each time, after 3 to 4 applications it'll start to last a long time. At least that's been my experience. I know officially the products don't layer, but I get protection and dark color for 6 weeks; the longest I've let it go. I feel it last longer. Two things I've found take it off fast: road salt and clay dust (from the mine). I have it on the bottom section of my Escape.

My experience with the blotchiness is related to the trim itself. The trim absorbs the product too fast and some sections absorb faster than others. I've had success with 2 approaches: water down the product a tiny bit or go slow and use just a tiny bit of product. One quick wipe won't do it - will result in a ton of elbow work.

If things go awry or road grime/exhaust particulate get embedded in the coating over time I've found turtle wax compound with a light touch works magic.
