Hi Everyone

I'm currently busy with a VW Golf 6R in blue, my second one in the same year/model and colour, however this particular one does not seem to want to correct. Its still wearing the original OEM paint and has not been repainted. I have corrected plenty Golf 5,6,7 GTi's/R's but this one won't play nicely.

Steps taken:

DAS 6 with Lake Country 5.5" Yellow pads and:
Menzerna PF2500
Menzerna FG400
Meguiars M85
Meguiars M95
Meguiars M105

All apart from the Menzerna PF2500 are rated at 1200 grit removal and the Yellow pad is the most aggressive from the Lake Country Flat pads. I didnt have my Flex and Rupes with me today so will attempt to tackle the defects with the more powerful machines and higher cut pads tomorrow.

The defects look like swirls not RIDS, and can't be captured on camera, I tried.

The Meguiars M range is rated for rotary or wool etc but has worked brilliantly on other Golf 6's with the same setup used.

My plan of action tomorrow is Flex with 5" Orange Hybrids or Foamed Wool depending or Rupes with MF. Another option is Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL on Spider Cutting Pads on either the Rupes or Flex, I also own the full Rupes system of pads and compounds.

Any ideas?

M101 4inch pads on your DAS6 or Rupes with Rupes cutting pad and FG400.

Have to finish the car tomorrow and don't have enough time to do all combinations of test spots but hoping the solution will be found easy. I thought Merc ceramiclear and normal clear coat was hard to cut but I managed to cut one last week with worse defects, yellow pad and PF2500.

Really no idea what gives with this particular cars paint.

Sounds like you need to just polish with a white pad and 4000,205, or HD polish. On a DA

seems like you need more aggressive approach.. Fg400 with orange hybrid + Flex should work!
Menz PF2500 is rated for 2500 grit removal combined with yellow pad I could see that not kocking out deep swirls.
