My car has a decent amount of rubber trim on it. I try my best to keep it clean and black. However, I can't find anything that will do a good job. I used PB trim restore and it bubbled my rubber if not removed quickly, plus I don't really like the look. Just got some PB natural look on and it streaked my rubber like crazy. There are dark portions, light portions, in between portions. I tried letting it sit and then wiping it off and just applying real thin and letting it sit. Either way it streaked up my trim.

The only thing I have found that kind of works is Z16. However, I refuse to use Zaino products on my car. Long story.

What do you guys use on your rubber trim and have good results with? Maybe I need to clean it with some sort of rubber specific cleaner first?? Thanks.

303 is good stuff! i like the look of it. here is a distant pic. it is the only one i have of the trim

For cleaning trim I use Pinnacle leather/vinyl cleaner. I believe it's more intended for interior work, but I've found it cleans exterior trim very well. After cleaning I'll protect with either 303 or Pinnacle vinyl/rubber pretectant - both which I like very much. I also have some PB's trim restore but I've yet to try it.

I like the PB trim restorer works well for me

As others have mentioned, 303 is supposed to be good. That's why I have a bottle on order.

EDIT: It's also supposed to be very very high in UV protection which is the other reason I'm leaning towards 303.

I keep Klasse AIO on my plastic trim and 303 on the rubber trim.

Have you tried Poorboys Bold & Bright? IMO it has the same appearance as Z16 just a little more of a matte finish.

I use Clearkote Vanilla Moose to clean all my external plastic and trim. It works great at removing discoloration, oxidation and dirt from rubber and plastic.

blkyukon, do you use the PC for this or just by hand?

sry for "hijacking" I have CVM that I got for free and have never used it, how is it as a glaze under something like Liquid Souveran?

I apply it by hand, but you need to work it in, you can't just wipe it on and off.

VM works and looks great under any carnauba.

I use both Z16 and 303. Both are very amazing. I just alternate between the two.
