Jeremy, Good morning. So, what year is your truck? Hearing you LC on troublesome trim. Follow Eldorado's suggestion, then may I suggest BlackFire Total Trim & Tire Sealant. I have a Ford also, 2005 Escape, with trim that was über-faded grey and ugly, failed the "heatgun" treatment, other trim products, then based on reviews here went with BF and it is the BOMB!
Images below show what happened with another treatment, which looked great for 24 hours until a single light rain fell, contrasted with today with BF. The first product was literally running off down the paint. You can see pretty well also how badly faded the long horizontal trim was on the rear door... and how great it looks today, AFTER several washes, AFTER several rainstorms. Can only hope now that we get a few more rainstorms here before summer. SoCal needs it.
With "other brand" trim treatment -
water soluble...
It just slipped right off after a light rain and ran down the paint leaving the nasty faded trim behind...
And now, no prep for picture taking, just sitting on my driveway (not garaged), treated in early Feb with BF Total Trim & Tire Sealant, couple of washes since, lots of rain (hallelujah!) since:
My only beef is that it seems to grab any and all loose fibers from even an MF rag, especially on the door handles, but it dries nice and matte anyway, and I can then wipe it off with a waffleweave MF. This probably is due to the fact that this is textured trim. Good luck! Let us know how yours turns out...
