We arrived to this Audi R8 V10 spyder which was scheduled for a basic Protection detail. This is where we give it a thorough foam bath, clean the wheels, clay bar, and seal the paint, seal the wheels, and wipe down and vacuumed the inside. This car is not a garage queen and gets plenty of time on the roads. So Lets begin.....

We start off with cleaning the wheels.

First the pre-rinse

We used Sonax Full Effect on the wheels, it is a pH neutral wheel cleaner that attacks the iron particles that have been embedded into the wheels, it will react and turn a red color which lets you know when it's working.

Then the inside of the wheels were agitated with Ez detail and the swissvax brush was used for the tight areas.

We treated the front bumper and lower panels of the car with a tar/bug remover.

then a pre-rinse of the paint to dislodge any loose debris

The foam bath..

Then the car was rinsed and brought inside for drying off

While I clay the car, David gets started on the inside

Then a quick wipe down with some cockpit premium

Then the paint was sealed using Black Fire Wet Diamond

Tires shined using OPT opti-bond (LOVE THIS STUFF)

Beautiful!! I thought Sonax wheel cleaner was supposed to be used on dry wheels.

Hmmm, I guess, either way it will still safely clean the wheels. It would show more red if you apply dry....but I'm sure both ways are still going to get the wheels clean.

2 requests any more pictures of that green r8 made me go all flush in the ferrari thread and secondly any pictures of your truck/van looks sweet, wish we had vans like that in the uk.

I love this car! And every time I use that wheel cleaner I find I get the wheels wet first too just habit I guess!

Ok so I guess overall I'm still pretty new to detailing (2 years). How do you get to the point where you have multiple R8's in a garage to detail?

haha, it's funny you say that, I wish we had some of the vans that you guys have over there, like the Swissvax VW van, or the Mercedes Vito. and the Green R8 is the next write up. and I will post my write up of my van soon. just for you.

Ha, yeah the vw transporter that swissvax use are really nice vans, so are vito's its just a shame merc commercial vehicles have really bad rust issues! I look forward to both threads! :dblthumb2:
