I think I left my truck unlocked...but either way, my whole community is gated, and my truck everything in there is pretty odd to be targeted. I get in my truck this morning and my Valentine 1 detector was missing....yet my wallet and $400 phone were right there in plain view and they didn't get touched. Yeh I know stupid I left them in their but I've honestly left my wallet etc in the truck when I come home quickly and know I'm leaving again.

I'm just trying to figure out how they went to my truck, didn't touch our other vehicles, didn't touch my wallet with plenty of cash in it or the expensive phone...yet took my detector ...retarded thief??

wow sorry to hear that. (happened to me once) sad that you can't heave your truck unlocked in a gated community....I guess someone really needed a Valentine detector....

Studip kids.... That sux, I hope they catch them.

sorry to hear that Surfer....it stinks when some one invades your domain....the radar detector was probably the most useful item to them....the phone can be locked out and the serial number reported stolen since it is a electronic serial number...the wallet if no money was in it is sorta useless also....a amateur with credit cards is risky now....with cameras on the registers and time stamps of the transaction you may see who it is....

at least they did not damage the truck...

AL

It's good your other things are safe Surfer, and it's good you're safe as well. At least they didn't try to break in your house. You can always replace the detector, maybe with something better :)

Yeh especially that the garage clicker was still there. I'm still so pissed, I loved that detector....if I find it was some punk kid in the neighborhood, beatdown time:mad:

And its not like I live in a bad area, I live in friggen Boca, snob central lol.

LOL Sorry to hear about the break in Surfer. At least they didn't break the windows and steal everything and then take a baseball bat to your truck. I feel sorry for those kids if you catch them. lol

That's a $400 detector, right? Sad...But maybe it was cops that did it. After all your phone was still there, and so was your wallet.

Yeh I've had that detector for about 10 years. Walked out to the new truck when I was 16 that they already put the Valentine 1 in as an extra present lol....sentimental value, thing never failed me, thats why I'm so pissed b/c I had it for so long.

No cops in my neighborhood...though that did make me chuckle when you said that lol.

count yourself lucky ... and you know a speeder likely stole it !

Sorry to hear that you got something stolen out of you truck. My rule of thumb is to not leave ANYTHING in sigh for anyone. Actually, I always fold up my rear seats so when a thief looks inside my truck, he can really see there is nothing in there.

I knew a guy that spent the night at my apartment once a long time ago and when he left his girlfriend told me that in the middle of the night he walked over to the neighboring apartment complex, smashed a guys window and stole his Valentine 1.

I think I'm gonna install a camera like my friend did at his house when somebody kept screwing with their cars. All I want to do is catch the person and have a little "fun" time with him:mad:

I'm still shocked over how they took it, but left the wallet with cash in it and my PDA Phone, and the old cell phone I've kept in the truck as an emergency. None of those were taken in plain view????? Obviously I'll never leave stuff in again, 10 years of driving and thats the 1st time that ever happened. Even way back at high school when I had the loudest system, never got touched. My garage clicker is inside now also, as something is wrong with my door, even though it locks, you can still open it...$$@##@%%#$^%

What someone got there dirty paws on the Lexus? Really, you got the "beat" part correct..hahahaha.

Dosen't sound like a smart thief...specially with the wallet being there...sorry to hear the bad news buddy but I agree consider your self lucky becuase it could have been worse...man they could have scratched it? or worse drivin it and got it dirty hahaha just kidding...just trying to bring a smile that's all....which is probably not working ...:(

surfer, that sucks! i am sorry to hear it. we all do forgetful stuff. i really don't get how they missed the wallet and all - i think you were quite fortunate. the radar detector replacement will be a lot less painful than identity theft or a stolen truck, you know? weird. keep us posted!!

do you have a lojack in there?

you need one of wytstang's killer bunnies!!! j/k - hee hee

They left my wallet with a decent amount of cash in it, and also my PDA phone and regular cell phone that I keep as a back up.......they just took the detector thats why I find it so odd????

Those guys are the worst. Bottom feeders. Wish I was there to help you catch them.

yea, sorry about that. i'm just borrowing it and i'll give it back tomorrow ;)

Probably some young kid thats never stolen anything in that fashion before. Peer pressure might of been involved, the kid was obviously pretty scared and did it real quick, not even noticing the other things. Or, some drunk kid.
