What do you mean by this? If i understand it correctly your asking why it bothers me. It bothers me cause i live in a town of 15000 People and if he screws up one car, word gets around i "showed" him.. then it makes me look bad.. He also asks me 50 questions a day and i answer them with the knowledge i have. But he still doesn't listen. Yeh know?

•What do I mean?
-For chrisesakes...

According to your OP:
•You're at work...Right?
-you're given a certain amount of time to do your work...Right?
-All the while you're depicting that you are bothered by this guy not following your suggestions to the letter...while you're at work. Right?

•So...once again:
-How do you manage your job assignments time...while you're at work:
-yet find the time to bother with someone that appears to be insolent?!?!
And:
This point has nothing to do with the size of the town where you live, IMHO.

Ask yourself this:
•Who was the person actually in charge of:
-The danger of this guy screwing-up vehicle details;
-the word getting around that you showed him the detailing-ropes;
-and this being a reflection on you?

-I know for sure it wasn't me!

•Good Luck.
-If you feel that whistling may not send a strong enough message to the guy to: Just leave you alone while at work...
-then come up with something else.
-I only suggested what always worked for me.
