Trying to scam me buddy?

I take pride in my work. : )
Take a look at Brett's linked site and you'll be right as rain. Funny stuff.

Your earlier respond convinced me that you are "Mark" loll

Well this is messed up....I just got this email an hour ago

"How's your day going? My name is Mark Pls I would like to know if you do auto detailing &wax services on suvs ?? Also i would like to know if you do accept credit cards as method of payment for your services ?? I look forward to your response pls"

This was from someone named Mark II ([email protected]).

They somehow seemed to have gotten out emails from a detailing forum!

I say this because I dont detail cars for a living, never have and have never advertised my services or given out my email.

I just got the same thing this morning

That's a little too much coincidence for me to believe. I see Paul@Autogeek is taking a look at the thread. You guys may want to forward those emails to him or someone else at AG. It's possible that someone has been snooping around their system. Make sure you send the entire email so they have the header information. Looks like a variation of the phoney job offer scam.

I got the same e-mail today as well, but in a mailbox that doesn't intermix with detailing or AGO. I'll play along and see where it goes.

Maybe you used that email address in conjunction with an AG or PBMG order, possibly tied to a PayPal account. :dunno:

I got this email this morning. I did find it a little weird that he didn't mention how he found me, since I just do it on the side and don't do THAT many cars, with a lot being friends and family. I don't have a website, but do have a Facebook page.

Good to know its a scam, thanks for posting this!

As we all know, Facebook is Evil, so this is starting to make sense.

Same issue here.

I got that email, which does not associate with AGO account.

I don't have my detailing email on my bushiness card, I don't even have it on my facebook page,

.....

Also received the same email this morning

hi, my name is Mark, i have a car tobe detailed before i go into the huspital fore brain and foot sergeries...........

Lmao.

Damn scammers. I just had a call 2 weeks ago pretending to be the IRS, and threatened me with police action.

I let loose a profanity-laced tirade that would've made Andrew Dice Clay blush.

"Click". No more "IRS" problems. Lmao

A version of this went around via text message a weekend or so ago for a lot of IDA members. Best to just delete and ignor so they don't know it is an active email or phone number.

My second thought:

Have you received the email on an email that was used to make a purchase from any of the PBMG websites??

Makes me think if not the email for your forum - then it has to be through the online store.

Lets hope someone from AG reads this thread...

I buy and sell cars every once in a while on craigslist and get these as text messages. They say they arnt around but they can send someone with a check or something and to pick up the car......Yea a check to you can't cash!! Lol email them back something that makes no sense or just letters and numbers and I bet you will get another different well written email

Sounds familiar, yet slightly spammy.

J'accuse!

Got the same a few days ago, along with the nightly Canadian Pharmacy ad. Just deleted it.

This is one reason I use more than one e-mail account. The one I received this "great job opportunity" is one that I use for non-personal and non-business.

WoW! I also got the same email yesterday. Obviously didn't respond but I was concerned as my contact info isn't public, especially the email it was sent to. Now that I see the exact same email from you guys, it must mean PBMG has been hacked.

The first 2 Caddys were just dropped off via transport...

Yeah, something fishy is going on, but now I'm curious about how the scam plays out. There must come a point where the scammer requests money from the detailer. Has anyone gone along with the scammer until it gets to that point?
