On my VW Routan, it has been a couple thousand miles since any tire cleaning, so it was the perfect test subject. The test was simple, clean it until no more brown came off. All tests were done on the same tire, you'll see why. First I would clean with Tuf Shine until no more brown was visible. I used a tire specific brush. It was sprayed with water and then the respective cleaner for each test.
Clean brush:

Here is the tire to start:

Tuf Shine:

1st application (notice the brown foam)

Scrubbed (notice the color of the brush and splatter on the wheel)

Rinsed:

Application 2:

Application 3:

Application 4:

Here I called it clean, almost nothing was coming off.

Now on the same tire I tried CG NONSENsE 1:10

Nothing came off.

Now CG All Clean + 1:10

As you can see nothing.

Only one APC left.
I'm sure most of you can figure out what it is.

Application 1:

To my surprise, a lot more brown came out:

Puddle of brown:

Application 2:

So the tire obviously wasn't clean, so back to Tuf Shine on the whole tire:

Almost nothing came out:

Now to declare a winner, the mystery APC got the left half and Tuf Shine got the right half. The brush was cleaned after each half was scrubbed.
Notice there is no brown on the driveway:

Tuf Shine side after scrubbing:

The mystery side. Definitely some brown:

At this point the testing ended with a clear winner and a clean tire. In the end, Tuf Shine is good, but not the best. I ended up using almost a 4th of the Tuf Shine bottle for this one tire.

I will need to compare this myself...
As i do have the Tuf shine tire cleaner and the Mystery APC.

PS: OP U should have put Amazing Roll Off to the test.
I usually use a normal cheap APC as my 1st application, then ARO.
Sometimes my cheap APC dont have any browns / stains, but ARO will get more crap out of my tires.

I wish I thought of ARO. I just placed an AG order last night, but it already shipped. I'll be sure to try some the next time I place an order.

Did you use Adam's APC straight? Im not familiar if it is supposed to be diluted.

Straight because it's an RTU product, but can be cut 1:1 or slightly more for light cleaning.

Now I need to figure out what to do with my APC+ I thought it is pretty lousy at cleaning tires and I hate that it doesn't foam. I got it over APC because its a little stronger.

I was using APC+ on tires but have since switched to Megs Super Degreaser and it cleans the tires up a lot better. It can be diluted as needed and is pretty cost effective compared to the "mystery" APC

Compared to other APC's the mystery is quite a lot, but compared to Tuf Shine it is $10 cheaper a gallon. I normally use NONSENsE or All Clean + which comes out to under $.05 an oz RTU. If I had done them before the Tuf Shine they would have pulled out a lot. They are both very good for 99% of jobs.
I do indeed like the mystery APC a lot, thanks for the test!
I like it too. Now only if I could magically have it as cheap as Meg's or CG's APCs.

More than OPC?

Serve different purposes, so no opc is still my favorite for cost and dilution, but mystery apc is damn good, just very expensive.

I have a review on it and a few tests I did on dilution over at Autopia forums :)

I know, I was just giving u a hard time. I'm not sure if Adam's can be used on the interior? Anyhow, I should get my gallon of BLACKFIRE APC on Friday! :D

I'm actually trying to conserve money with BF APC! You rubbed off on me a few days ago when you said you want the least amount of products possible to get the job done! :props:

They don't make claims that it can be so I wouldn't. However, for cleaning trim, tires, engines, etc. it just melts all the grease, oil, tar, etc. away. It also gets wax/ glaze/ sealant/ polish/ dressing applicators perfectly clean. Also, a few oz in your car shampoo makes a great strip wash.

LA Totally Awesome has worked better than the mystery APC in my tests. Both applied straight. The totally awesome removed grime when the mystery APC could not.

Would love to see someone try Megs Super Degreaser against TufShine & some of the other cleaners, like Adams.
Best I've used for tyres although, admittedly, I haven't used much...

Tried Megs APC & that was terrible in comparison.
The brush just felt slippery on the tyre & there was no brown foam.
The SD starts turning brown as soon as it hits the tyre, before I've even started brushing...

I'd love to see some others compared too. I just wish the Meg's stuff was available in smaller sizes.
