Tweet Tweet - Anyone here Tweet?


I've had a Twitter account for over two years and rarely used it but due to a new project have been doing a little tweeting lately..

I literally just nuked my Twitter account yesterday afternoon.

Received an email stating that the account may have been hacked. Looked it up, sure enough, someone used to post a bunch of spam. I've never had an account broke into before. I don't exactly use simple passwords as many people do, so I was a little baffled.

So yeah, I'm off their site for the time. I'm not sure I'll go back since I didn't really use it to begin with.

edit: I just clicked on your account Mike. I'm so sorry they have you going to Pinterest...it's just not a place for men. My wife loves it though, lol. I do understand it's a really good advertising site though. My wife complains because if she finds something she wants on the site, it's usually sold out and on back order because women eat that site up.

I set it up mostly to follow a few websites/businesses, but I do plan to eventually use it. I'm on there as FlyinionFilms and my eventual plan was to start recording and uploading video game recordings to my website again and Tweet about it when I did. Just hasn't gotten off the ground yet due to reduced video game time and other stuff (like my detailing addiction lol). I used to record my guild's raid sessions in WoW.
 
Nope, no tweeting. And no Facebook.

Too old to learn new tricks.

Yes, I am now adding my articles to Pinterest and after I add one it gives me the option to "tweet" my post to Twitter. I never used my Twitter account till now for this reason.

I've been in the car industry all my life now and I have no plans on ever being out of it and one thing I've found is getting into "touch points" that reach out to the female persuasion has been difficult.

Every guy on this forum realizes how few girls actually join and hang out on a "detailing discussion" forum. There's a few but I think you'll all agree the historic majority demographics for a car detailing forum has been and will likely be made up of men.

That said, studies show women do most of the spending, whether for themselves or for their families or better halves. So as long as my article are helping others to reach their car care goals that's what's important.


Next week we'll be at the Knoxville, Tennessee car show for 3 days and I'll be taking pictures and posting them to my Facebook page on the fly. Twitter, Facebook, Forums, it's all good because different types of people are attracted to different types of social interfaces.

I prefer forums because you can add pictures, links, videos, etc. and there are no limits according to the number or characters, etc. So forums are here to stay as I don't see anything being able to offers as much versatility into the future.

I remember when "Blogs" were introduced, Management at Meguiar's were all excited about "blogs" some of the people I worked around even thought blogs were going to replace forums but that didn't happen and it will never happen as they don't offer the interactivity that a forum offers.

Anyway, off to tweet and facebook and forum... and then later today we're going to buff out a really cool big block 1967 Camaro and way cool 1941 Plymouth Coupe.
