Two accidents in Two days

My lovely show car was also involved in an accident this morning!

Can you believe it! I had just taken out my car and qd'd it and went to take a few belongings from inside the home and heard a huge BAM!!

Went out and saw that a white car had scraped literally whole of the right side of my car!!!!

The paint somehow didn't come off(maybe due to multiple layers of UPGP!?) but the panel was dented quite badly!

Turns out that the driver of the white car had suffered a epileptic seizure while driving and veered totally off road into mine!!!(How do they get a driving license when they have epilepsy!???)

I was totally like WTF!!! I felt like crying as I had take so much care of it and it was all factory paint!!

Now its off to a reputed bodyshop and I'll be getting it in a week!!

This one week without my baby will be a long one!!

I hope she's back with factory looking paintjob!! (The paint booth has heat lamps to accelerate curing process, so I guess its in a good bodyshop?)

I still cant believe that a driving license was given to a epileptic person!!

Aw man :(

Seems like noone has had good luck lately. So am i correct in reading this that your car was PARKED when this happened? Thats crazy.

Lets all hope the body shop does class act work and gets your baby back to factory condition.

Sorry to hear about the two car accidents that you had recently, that is real crappy. the good news like you and others have said is that nobody was hurt. good luck on the search for your new ride ! to the poster who asks about an epileptic person getting a license, my friend in high school had the same issue. he did get his license but he had to go a certain length of time without a seizure ( can not remember if it was a year maybe 2 ) not sure if the laws have changed but I would think they should had to show proof of not having had a seizure for a while ( I could be wrong ) that being said , it is a tough knowing that there are people with this condition and could be on the road when it happens. my friend was always worried about that happening to him at any time. the good news is that you were not was hurt when they ran into your parked car.

People with disabilities aren't the problem. How often do u see an epileptic person driving into another lane, or rear-ending someone due to a seizure.

Text messaging while driving, if addressed, may lead to a safer driving experience.

The main problem is drivers simply not paying attention, period. I don't blame it on any particular item or device, just general carelessness in part of driver.

Any time you are doing something other than paying attention to the road, traffic, signs/lights, your own vehicles location and speed on the road, you're taking the risk of missing a vital piece of information that could help you in avoiding a collision.

It can be the changing cds, cigarettes, cell phones, or they're just simply staring off into space thinking about your day at work. Anything that takes your focus off your surroundings when you're driving can cause an accident. Cell phones get a lot of hate because they're the most common distraction and easy to blame.

People simply don't take driving as seriously as they should, driving should be a privilege not a right.

Gotta remember its the person, not the cell phone driving, making legislation to stop texting/talking while driving is stupid and people will just still be not paying attention and still not even know how to properly react if they need to avoid a collision. It just adds one more law for our nanny-govt to fine us and control us with. We need legislation to make our driver education program more extensive, not to make laws about cell phones.

Totally agree with you there!!

and yes, my car was parked when this happened!! I was just cursing myself that I had taken my car out!! :(

There was also this guy who had to jump to avoid the car crushing him!!

I wonder who'd be the one to blame if a guy seizes behind the wheel and actually crushes some pedestrian unknowingly!

btw what car are you getting now?

MS3 / Evo / WRX / Mustang?

I test drove a lightly used 2008 WRX and it was awesome. Still need to test drive the MS3 and Mustang, got crazy stuff going on in my life right now and havent had time to get out and look at cars.

I would agree with the the statement "driving should be a privilege not a right " also if somebody seizes behind the wheel and hits somebody or destroys property the person driving is responsible, if you ask me. I do not believe that a person should use their disability to get out of trouble. if you have a condition that might cause you to lose control, keep in mind what could happen to others. the part of people not paying attention while driving, whew that is an understatement. the way people drive around my area it is amazing they can get insurance. you have to have eyes in the back of your head these days. speeding , wow the speeds people drive at , even in bad weather is amazing that I do not see more accidents in person.

point well taken my friends. it may just be me, but i feel people with disablilites sometimes are more aware of the danger their condition can cause than some dope who is busy combing his hair and eating breakfast while text messaging his ugly girlfriend about what bar they are going to get sloshed @ tonight.

i totally agree that everyone should be responsible in their driving habits and be aware what a 3500 pound machine moving @ least 25 mph can do.

You should take the total money, and maybe see what a body shop could fix it for on the side, and buy the salvage...

Well I wouldn't get another Miata. My son about two years ago "tapped" the bumper of a Miata that stopped suddenly when traffic was going a few miles an hour. He has a Saab 9-2 and had a 1/2 scratch on his front bumper. Miata cost $925 to get fixed. POS!

Hey zliegen! Sorry for the past couple weeks of happenings. I over looked your post before but I just saw it. I feel your pain as I lost my 05 STi after having the motor rebuilt/new clutch. Thank God for it being totaled. I even bought it back and made twice what I bought it back for. If you still have that option you could part out a Miata to some racers easy. And those tires. You could had at least gotten your money out of them. I just bought the Altimax Arctics for my truck before X-mas. They are great. Would have held onto those. Hope everything works out. BTW, go Subie. You will never look back after all-wheel drive. Altimax Arctics on a WRX! Now we're talking some real traction and fun!

I have a good friend who got into an accident pulling out of the body shop that just fixed his car from a previous accident. He pulled back into the body shop and they actually have a "club" for people who get into accidents relatively close to one another. Needless to say, he set the record for least amount of time between accidents.

WOW!! I thought I had some bad.....luck.

There is an all wheel drive TSX and an all wheel drive Juke. Both handle well. Good luck finding a new ride.
