I washed my car after two days of rain and it looks like it took out my clear. Its in the pattern of evaporated rain. And found out the turkey fryer has a leak. :(

Just more detail I found this on my hood. The front quarter fenders were fine. Swirl remover with an orange pad by hand wudnt budge these spots. Looks like a repaint for xmas.

Please tell me where you live and it rains like that so I make sure I never go anywhere near there.

No kidding...every vehicle in your area must look horrible.

What was your clear protected with....wax/sealant/coating wise? Just curious.

Well I had just corrected it with wolfgang duo. Is water spot remover formulated different than compounds? My last step was Meguairs NXT. I think it was just cut too thin. This isnt the first rain it had seen after the correction either. I dont know..

yes water spot remover is formulated different you see most water spot removers are acidic to break down the minerals that are in the hard water spots

Anyone else think these are water spots? I left the car in the rain for 2 days w/o driving. Maybe I'm not responsible enough for a shiny black car. :(

Is it just water spots from the rain if so that is no big deal you can just hit it with a quick detail if its a little dirty. Otherwise what I would do is on a nice day:

2 bucket wash
Clay the whole car
Dry it really good
take a dp all in one and coat the car
Finish with meguires 26 or a wax of your liking

I would order the DP all in one it is really easy to use and shines it up nice. (My .02) Also might want to look into a quick detail spray

It will be fine bud. Just follow the lead others have suggested.

Surely you weren't so engrossed in filming a: "As Seen On TV" commercial...
Only to discover, too late: that was a defective fryer sitting on the hood of your car!!

:D

How did you make out?
I just got rid of some water spots today off of my camry.
What did you use to get rid of the mineral build up?

So how was your vehicle sealed? Carnauba, sealant, coating etc...

In this case and IMO start with the least abrasive method, and also do test spots...

And good luck, the job doesn't look tol difficult...

WG swirl remover on the DA didnt budge them. Have to live with it. Im in jackson MS. I think the sealant had been pretty worn by now, but I dont under stand why just the top surfaces. I think the water has etched the paint pretty bad. All I can do is snap pictures of it. the trunk has it worse. It almost looks like clear failure on the trunk.
