Type II Water spot help

As others eluded to, the large diameter 6.5" pads PLUS how thick they are doesn't work very well with first generation Porter Cable polishers. The fact is, ...

Thanks Mike!!!

So given both posts this morning, I should skip the Spotless and Nanoskin, order the LC 5" BP, 5.5" flat pads, and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion?

Does a GG 3" with the 3M Trizact make any sense at this point? I have a good stock of the LC 4" CCS pads.

In my article I wrote or talked about using the least aggressive product to get the job done and in the pictures of the read car I was able to remove the spots using only the paint cleaner, )Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion), which is non-abrasive. Since it removed the imprints in the paint on the red rental car they must have been very shallow plus I used a white foam polishing pad which does offer a little cut.

While that worked for me on that particular car now days if it were me I would simply start out with a medium cut polish that uses great abrasive technology and for this get the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover. Don't skimp on abrasive technology, use good products and you'll get great results fast the first time.

Water spots or Imprint Rings are some of the worst types of defects to have to remove especially if they are deep into the paint.

Well I'm a HUGE fan of the 3" Trizact #3000 and #5000 sanding discs, even have two article to try to share these cool tools...

Griot's 3" Mini Polisher works great as a 3" Dampsander

That said, I think you should be able to remove these by simply machine polishing.

If you want to make quick work of it however, get the #3000 discs and lightly machine sand the affected areas and then remove your sanding marks.

If you go this route then you'll want to get a high quality compound as it will cut faster than a medium cut polish.

There is no compound in the Pinnacle NB line at this time so take a look at the Wolfgang Uber Compound. It cuts fast and finishes out like a polish.
