Well got this 2011 Mercedes S550 with swirls and light scratches was going to do

WG Uber
WG Finish glaze
WG sealant

any recommendations ?

using a opt microfiber cutting pad

Instead of going to the Uber Compound, you might try the Total Swirl Remover and then finish with Finishing Glaze. The less compounding you need to do the better.

I have some WG total swirl eliminator and will try both the see which gives the best results thanks

Other than the scuff on the quarter panel it doesn't look that bad...but...

I've brought in many cars where I've said that exact same thing, until the wash and clay was completed and the stuff masking the true condition of the paint had been removed to reveal some truly ugly paint conditions.

Was the car washed and clayed at the point those photos were taken?

I agree with Desertnate but don't be surprised if the above highlighted scenario comes to pass and changes your game plan.

Good afternoon,

Have you seen recent talk about ceramiclear paints? I don't know if that's your case, but if it is, I would try something like recommended above, some medium polish to clean up the paint and level light swirls, then add a good protection like a coating.

By the way, I don't have any experience with this kind of paint so I'm just speculating from the way I would approach to it... Looking forward to hear what you've done after all.

Here's the read for ceramiclear:

(this link is to the last page that has some interesting information, if you wish you can go through the entire discussion).

Hope I've helped.

Kind Regards.

I will start with

Chemical Guys Pink soap and foam gun
Griot clay bar
Iron X cleaner
Wolfgang Uber compound
Griot wipe down cleaner
Wolfgang 3.0 Finish glaze with grey foam pad
Wolfgang 3.0 paint sealant
Pinnacle Liquid Soveran Wax
Finish Kare Ultra Polymer wipe down detail spray

Looks like this will be a long weekend lol

Those look very light or shallow to me...

Like mentioned, the TSR will probably take everything out but the deepest and you could spot the deep scratches with the Uber Compound.

Is this for you or a customer?

good idea I will try that this Mercedes belongs to a very special friend of my family and I really want to do a fantastic job for him as he helps my mom and son a lot . I will add some TSR to my order

I have it's older cousin to do this weekend, pictures don't show it but I've been told it has a LOT of swirls...

Remember, always do a Test Spot.... I do....

Thank you for the help everyone at Autogeek has been a fantastic help.. Mike Phillips made a good point to me today as I was purchasing the uber and Iron X products , The owner must change his habits as if not all my work will be wasted. Once complete I will instruct the owner to either let me keep it fresh every 2-3 weeks or not do do what got the car in this condition to begin with . Again thank you Mike for all you do for us detail geeks..

It's amazing what the Swirl Remover will remove from cars. Many things that I thought I needed to break out the Uber compound for, the TSR took care of it.

Nice talking to you today. Come to one of our Thursday night gigs sometime since you're just down the road a spell...

I started with some MR Pink shampoo in a foam gun then washed with the dual bucket method

I might have missed this but what machine are you using to correct it?

I have a Griot 6" RO with a 5.5 back plate

How did the uber work for you? I don't see the TSR in the photo? I think TSR would have reduced your swirls tremendously but not completely, then again its hard to say without doing test sections and ipa wipe downs.

you nailed it!!! I have 2 sample bottles I forgot to put it in the picture when I did the test spot the TSR removed about 85% of it so I then tried the Uber and it was perfect 100% eliminated I used a Lake Country orange 5.5 pad . The Uber feels like a lotion and just works awesome on this Mercedes.

I am now a uber fan for sure great stuff
