It's up to you and two things...
1. Your standards for what is an acceptable looking finish.
2. The color of your car.
Ultimate Compound is an amazing abrasive product because it can cut really well and really fast and finish down looking like you just polished the paint and for some people this is good enough and the next thing they do is slap on the wax and then stick a fork in it and call it done.
This is especially true on lighter colors because lighter colors don't show defects like haze as well as darker colors. How this applies to you and everyone else that asks your same question is that,
In some cases a compound, because it's aggressive, even UC can finish down very nice but still leave some haze. You might only see this on a black or dark colored car. It's possible it happens to a light or white colored car but you eyes cannot detect it. This doesn't mean the haze isn't' there, it simply means you cannot see the haze.
For some people they don't care if the haze is there or not, what they see looks good and the wax the car and move on.
for other people, they strive for perfection and they will always follow a more aggressive compounding step with a less aggressive polishing step and then seal the paint.
Make sense?
What are you working on?
