For those of you using the UDM, how has it performed? Have the early reliability problems been solved? Thanks.

i personally cant vouch for the reliability as of yet, i just got mine a few weeks back...but i can tell you that i did a ton of research before the purchase between the udm and pc...the early problem with the udm has been resolved, and the warranty and customer service is great...i ended up with the udm because it seems to be an upgraded version of the pc with more power and less vibration...

I have a UDM and its holding up well ... so far. I believe mine was made before the rest of the UDMs had issues. However, the only differences between UDM and PC7424 is speed 6, the UDM is less likely to bog down and the UDM has sharper and more intense vibrations. Both correct equally well and I still prefer the PC7424. Tried and true. The new chinese polishers (UDM, Meg's G110) have all had issues ... I don't care how well CS is, a new machine should be tested thoroughly before shipping to customers ... having machines break one after another is unacceptable.

ture, i cant really argue with you, however...the machine seems to be well recieved now....

I've had mine for about 4 months with no troubles. I don't use it constantly, but it still has performed well. I use mine as a compliment to my rotary, which I feel is a much better use.

I've had mine for about a year now, and its still working great. I just used it last weekend. The on/off button on the UDM is a little big, I hit it a couple of times by accident and flung product that was on the pad.

Agreed, I simply cannot afford for my machine to break down.. If you have to factor in customer service for *when* your machine breaks, you are looking at the wrong machine.

You know they have a replacement switch for that problem. Go to the UDM website and order one (it free) and take less then 3 minutes to put in. They have instructions on their web site on how to do it. Very very easy to do.

Also I will say the reason I went ahead with the UDM is my PC ( I bought used) was leaving grease all over the top of the pads (edge pads). So I figured it was on it's way out, so I picked up the UDM to replace it. Well the UDM was doing the same until I switched back to LC pads and backing plate. But with some threads talking about failures I kinda wish I held off to see how they turned out.

I guess I missed that thread :)
Thanks for the heads-up

I have had mine from the first batch and it has performed flawlessly.Only problem was the switch issue that has been fixed .Customer service has been top notch.I have a PC7336 that is not setup up for carpet duty,A PC 7428 Rotary and a flex 3401 that I use for paint corrections. The UDM is for tight areas and LSP application.I would recommend it.

just found out my friend down the street has a pc that went dead on him...he had the thing for a little over a year, used it 6 times and now it doesnt work...now he has a udm...so the pc isnt perfect either it seems....

Used it for the second time this weekend and the arbor fell out and the unit is completely dead. Wish I had gone with the PC and not allowed myself to get caught up in the latest and greatest game. Oh well. It is still under warranty. Guess I will see what they do for me. Hopefully the service is better than the product.

I'm sure AG will take good care of you.

Hi I'm new here, bought UDM with a host of Pinnacle XMT, Wolfgang products for my 07 Shelby GT/SC Black. First time spent 7 hours wash, clay, xmt 3, xmt1, wolgang deep gloss and Pinnacle Souveran. Car never looked better!
Second time I used the UDM after 2 hours I noticed the RPMS dropping with setting at #5, shut off the machine and call AG and they took it back for a refund so went for the Flex..... I hope I made the right choice!!
Thanks AG

One of the two I ordered did the same thing. At first I thought it was a wiring issue because you could jiggle the cable and it would come back to life. Then once I thought I had that cured, you could have it running at a great pace and the rpm's would slowly start to decline until it went dead. Called Dwayne, sent it back, and got things squared away towards a PC. Always count on the customer service at AG! If you have a problem, address it with them first before letting aggravation get the best of you. You'll be happy in the long run.

Car looks great, my UDM is fine but I'm just scared it might die on me.

Couldnt find the instructions on how to change the switch online. An employee dropped it, cracked the front case, and now the switch is all goofed up. Since THAT wont be covered under warranty, Im trying to see if I can fix it
