on fox free last night. WOW. dos santos made short work of cain!
 
I missed the show...forgot it was on....is it going to be a weekly program, or monthly?

I'm a big fan of Dana White
 
ufc has now teamed with fox from what i gather.
 
Lets just say I am glad I did not have to pay to watch that lol.

I don't really like watching heavyweights. The lighter weight classes put on more of a show
 
Feel sorry for the folks who spend their money to watch this fight. I was a fast knock out.

from what i understand, UFC signed a 7 year $90 million dollar deal with Fox consisting of 3 or 4 shows per year and also prelim shows on the other Fox channels, FX and Fuel TV, for the PPV events. FX will also have The Ultimate Fighter show and the elimination fights will now be LIVE. the contract doesnt officially start until 2012 and the Cain/JDS fight was just a teaser event and sort of a 'introduction' of MMA to the masses.

but A LOT of people are pissed off that Fox didnt show the Henderson/Guida fight and especially pissed off at Dana White for his 'commentary' of the Cain/JDS fight.

That sounds like a great plan (every 3-4 months) with eliminations on FX

Dana White pissing ppl off it what makes him atractive to me. How many CEO's do you see walking around calling ppl Delta Bravo's
 
The fight was some what of a let down. Finally a free to watch fight with alot of hype and it lasted a minute.

Great part was though that it was free.

I am a huge UFC fight and have a ton of respect for those guys and think Dana White is great. I have a sibling that gets to work with and around alot of these men and they are class acts.

I see where you are coming from. Although, I would much rather watch two guys that have to respect each other's one punch knock out power. Sometimes after seeing guys get hit with punches that aren't doing much damage gets old. Just IMO.

i was expecting the fight to end in the first round by KO by either guy but i was going for Cain. i dont consider the fight a let down but i do consider the idea of a 1 hour/1 fight show a let down. i'm really hyped for Lesnar vs The Reem. its also gonna be a 1st round KO fight with The Reem winning.
 
Fox is making a humongous bid to be the #1 tv sports provider---they just won the rights to two soccer World Cups, shockingly outbidding ESPN.

Yep. Lesnar goes so hard that it will no doubt be a quick finish.

I too was expecting a bit more re: the number of fights. I did find the background on the fighters interesting though...
 
they should of showed another fight or two to help grasp people into watching it a little more. also, it would of been wise if cain closed the distance and used his wrestling to wear him down, as cain's cardio is better between the two. i wish they would bring back PRIDE, i miss it and prefer it over the ufc. every match was like a main event with global mixed martial artists from all over the globe...
 
The Bendo-Guida was great but it went the full three rounds. The Lamas-Swanson could have also won some of the people who watched MMA the first time.
