Ugh!!!

I've only used "Do Not Wash Or Vacuum" signs, but I got the below from (I think) another detailing forum (credits to the original poster) - planning on printing signs with this the next time around:

Service Technician:

Please do NOT adjust tire air pressure.
Please do NOT wash the car.
Please do NOT top off washer fluid.
Please do NOT wipe down exterior paint for any reason.
Please do NOT wipe down interior surfaces for any reason.

You should record an MP3 of you telling them not to as well. That way when they start the car it will play for them. Im the MAN

But then they might fiddle with my audio settings...

^ LMAO!!! I know right?! I always turn my radio off, noting what the last input it was on. That lets me know if they messed with it.

You should know the service manager by the first name and so should he know yours. In no uncertain terms the Service manager should know that you are a self admitted car freak and that things that do not occur to 99.99999% of the general public drive you crazy. You should take a walk around with said service manager showing him what amazing shape your vehicle is in and that you expect it to be returned to you in the same condition...

That describes the guy I met yesterday to a tee. The BMW dealer in Grand Rapids washed his car while it was in for service, now they're getting a $400-600 quote dropped in their laps for paint correction.

Bet they don't make that mistake again, eh? :nomore:

sad thing is...I bet they DO make that mistake again. When I used to get my Accord serviced at the dealer, twice they put my car through the wash. I would always get the owners daughter as the service tech and she remembered after the second time. But by then it was too late.

Just a shame that the dealers have no idea how to treat paint....

That and they don't care.
