Thinking of doing a fundraiser (donate a portion of proceeds) for a neighbor that is fighting ALS ( sometimes called Lou Gehrig's disease ). thinking of renting a truck for a few hours (a Saturday or Sunday mid to late spring/early summer) grabbing my pressure washer, foam cannon/shampoo, wheel/tire cleaner and glass cleaner oh and spray wax or quick detail spray with my helper and offer exterior only wash for $10.00-$15.00, nothing of AUTOGEEK LEVEL DETAILING but a quick & clean exterior no more the 45 minutes per car.
since a lot of folks can't stomach most prices offering something quick and affordable, and hope that it draws me (flyer handout) a few new customers in between. I would set up at one location (shopping center or gas station, etc.), and I would advertise this to the neighborhood community for a week or two in advance to see who would support the fundraiser and send the proceeds to his go fund me account.
the wash would be cars only $10.00 or $15.00

exterior washed and dried
wheels cleaned (face only)
clean and dress tires
clean exterior mirrors and glass only
bonus polymer/spray wax

just posting for feedback
videos are not mine but one shows the same type of equipment I plan to use IBC 275 gallons water tank and vertical honda (Blackmax) pressure washer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvjmBQXzPM
and other video basic type of wash being offer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNvlBmypt9w

If you're eating all of the costs and 100% is going straight to the neighbor, 20.00 is a nice flat fee.

You thinking something like hyperwash in a foam cannon, with D156 as you dry, hit the trim with something and send them on their way?

yes sir hit with foam, wash while foamed, rinse dry all after wiping wheel face and tires then spray wax or quick detail spray either uber or uww+, figure give my helper a few dollars and donate a portion or charge $15.00 and split in thirds ($5.00 for fundraiser, $5.00 for helper and $5.00 for cost of supplies and expenses)

Sounds great,I'm down with anyone who has a disease your a good man

Good on you for taking care of neighbors. Avoid the go fund me if possible since they take their chunk out of all donations.

My father in law just died from this horrible disease and what you are trying to do is absolutely amazing. I live near New Orleans louisiana and there are a handful of events (als walk and run, iron horse triathlon, gleason festival etc) that the proceeds go to als. That being said look for an event like this in your area and work something out with the event organizer and perform your service at an als event. I would ask to sponsor an event like this, instead of giving money I would offer my service. You would get a ton of free advertisement . I would just ask for a donation and I think the clients would give a lot mor than 15 dollars a car.
Anyway good for on helping your neighbor and my thoughts and prayers are on your neighbor.

Thanks someone not sure if a family member or friend already had the go fund me account set up for maybe a year now so it seems like not too much was happening in terms of financial support after a few weeks, so I thought I help but only could come up with my current idea.

RDGRAV's idea is spot on!

X2......I've done car wash fundraisers for a couple of different causes......the donation idea has always worked out the best.....especially for a cause like ALS.......

Sorry to hear of your lost, yes my thoughts were similar to what you had posted, our community does not really do too much in terms of events, but I may contact the local politician (Pa. State Representative Cherelle Parker) and maybe her staff can guide me in some ways. Thanks again

The ALS Association has a chapter in just about every state, I would suggest to start from there.
