How does UPGP stack up against sealants like UPP, DGPS, Poli-Coat, and Power Lock?

Stupid question, but how does Opti-Seal compare to UPGP, seeing as how they are both WOWA? Opti-Seal is OK, but just doesn't seem to have the durability.

I was washing my cars today and also had the camera available as I was washing 2 of the cars with PB SS&S to do a review for Shane. While I was doing it I noticed something I had to videotape for you guys. Remember that UTTG in the middle of the other 2 sealants that I placed on my hood? While its not the right product for the paint it sure does hate water!

That is AWESOME. I hope I'm not the only one who is considering covering a car in it. You should do it Corey. I don't have a video camera :laughing:

So you did an experiment using Ultima Tire & Trim Guard on the center of the hood and the results are truly amazing. I wonder how it would compare to Ultima Paint Guard Plus in the same environment?

It did cross my mind... :laughing: UTTG beads water like crazy but it doesn't look as good on the paint like UPGP does. Its a bit messy on paint. (See earlier in the article) I'd stick with using it on trim and tires. There actually was UPGP applied just above the UTTG square but the PBSS&S seems to have changed its water sheeting/beading characteristics completely. Also the UPGP bonding was probably somewhat jeopardized since it got moisture on it relatively early in the curing cycle.

I wonder how long the UTTG would last on the paint... I don't think we'll find out this time around as I'm planning to coat that whole car in Cquartz fairly soon.
