Ultima waterless wash or optimum no rinse?

Would someone mind explaining the difference between a "rinseless" wash and a "waterless" wash? Is one done using buckets, whereas the other spray-on, wipe off?

Rinseless

A rinseless wash is just that; it's carefully applied using lots of solution allowing contaminates and debris to "flow" off the finish. I use a wool mitt when I using it and have found that washing the panel twice then drying it produces stellar results. No rinsing required.

Waterless Wash

From the Ultima Web Page

"Simply spray the vehicle and use a soft microfiber towel to wipe in a back and forth motion. Refold and replace the towel as needed."

From the Detailer's Pride Web Page

Detailer’s Pro Series Waterless Auto Wash is ready to use in the convenient spray bottle.

  1. Simply spray and wipe to clean surfaces. Use a plush microfiber towel, such as the Cobra Deluxe Jr. 600 Microfiber Towel to absorb dirt. Flip the towel often.
  2. On lower panels – usually the dirtiest – allow Detailer’s Pro Series Waterless Auto Wash to soak for a few seconds before wiping it off.
  3. On glass, less Detailer’s Pro Series Waterless Auto Wash is needed. Use a clean towel and just one or two sprays of Detailer’s Pro Series Waterless Auto Wash.

Ultima wins hands down as a waterless wash and a QD. I used to use ONR for clay lube, but I found it not to be slick enough for my likings. That being said I still use ONR, but only for rinseless washes.

So I would go with the people saying to buy both, they are both great products.

I agree

Except the clay lube comment. For me - I still use ONR as my clay lube every time.

For waterless wash @ 1:44 dilution ratio it's the most cost effective. Also, smells like candy.

can OOC be diluted to be used as a rinseless since it contains the "same polymers"??? wouldnt this be more cost effective since it cost the same as ONR (gallon sizes)

OOC isn't meant to be used as a rinseless wash, it's meant to be used as a waterless wash. The dilution ratio in the gallon size is 3:1, yielding 4 gallons of waterless wash. Ultima's ratio is 1:44, the 16oz concentrate yields 5.5 gallons of waterless wash.
OOC = $39.99=4 gallons=$10/gallon
UWW = $20.99=5.5 gallons=$3.82/gallon

what i mean is since ONR and OOC contains some of the some ingrediants in higher concentration, couldnt OCC in theory be used the same way as ONR at a higher dilution
