Doing my DD tomorrow. 2011 Black Ford Crown Victoria.

I have heard a ton of talk about UC finishing down really well.

Going to try the orange and white 5.5 Flat pad with my PC and see which pad finishes out better.

Anyone had any luck with UC as a 1 step?

I also have Ultimate Polish, 105 / 205, D300 and D301. Its a DD, do not want perfection just swirl reduction.

I just finished up my 03 Cobra (sonic blue) & my initial thought once finished with UC on an orange pad was, "hey, I'm LSP ready". Then I hit it with UP on a white pad & realized I was wrong.

I'm not sure about the UC on black, but I've used it so many times as one step .. of course with soft pad (white or so).

It all depends on the severity of the swirls. If you have got medium to heavy swirls then Orange CCS cutting pad will work, or otherwise go with white pad. With both pads u'll get LSP ready finish.

BUT, the deciding factor is to DO A TEST SPOT FIRST. thus, u'll have a better idea of which pad to use and with what force and how many passess are required. Reason is that every other car is different.

Here is Mike's latest post to show, how to do a Test Spot: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...ack-wax-1964-black-catalina-2.html#post768487

good luck :props:

Would depend on the paint, I'd say. I have used it as a one-step with a tangerine pad on a navy-blue metallic aftermarket paint - I'd say medium with regards to hardness. Didn't really see any improvement following-up with M205, so stuck with just the UC.

Ultimately, it really depends on your goals and what satisfies you....:props:
