just used it today after a wash, what do you think?

Looks good. I haven't used UQD in a while but i loved it for a wipedown on alloy wheels. Gave them a great shine.

I like the newest version, I think they changed it when 135 came out as my original bottle sheeted water and now it beads.

For a post wash exterior gloss enhancer, I now just use a spray wax. They are almost as easy to apply. It has better gloss, slickness, and real durability. Super detailers cost about the same and even more than spray waxes because they are "hot" items.

YOMV.

yeh I just stick with DG FCS and AW

Looks really nice. I really like Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer, it's quite possibly the best QD out there. Does its job nicely, provides a really nice dark wet-look shine and supposedly offers multiple weeks of protection all on its own. I'm not crazy about the 8-12 hour cure time but it's okay...I just wipe down the whole car at night and it's ready to be driven in the morning.

As I mentioned, it goes for a darker look so it brings out the real color of the paint, as opposed to other QD's that go for brightness and high shine so you have to like the look.

QD? What's that? For some reason or another I've never been a fan of QDs. I figure if I have time to QD, I'll have time to do a wax, even if its a spray wax. Plus you never know what's in the QDs whether its the solvents or silicone ... and if they even have any protection ability. I'll take OCW over a QD any day.

souveran spray wax is the best out there .. leaves a nice just waxed look and feel.....

How can anyone compare QD to a spray-wax. They are two entirely different products. One is for cleaning, the other is for protection.

I know some QD's leave a protective residue, but those are the exception, not the rule.

QD's are for cleaning the car when it has very light dust. Or assist in buffing polish or wax residue from the paint. Or they act as a lubricant for detailing clay. You can't use a spray-wax for any of those.

If you are looking for a QD to protect the paint, then you will be sorely disappointed. Even the ones that claim to have that ability just don't measure up to a spray-wax.

Tend to use QD's as either a drying aid or as a final 'LSP' to remove any missed wax/sealant residue.

To that end, FYI, Dodo Juice have a drying aid spray and a spray sealant due out at the beginning of next year.

I use:

Megs QD for claying (the one in the red bottle, I don't know if you can get it anymore?).

Duragloss Fast Clean and Shine for a qd'er with some protection

Duragloss AW as spray wax or lsp since its durable.

I've just always put qd'er into 3 categories, ones for claying that are slick and over great lubricant, ones for touch up with a little pizazz, and the ones that can be used as stand alone or touch up on a current lsp like AW but is also not really a straight qd'er as I wouldn't use it for claying etc.

That red bottle is awesome. It sprays perfect for QD'ing. I saved some of the bottles. Yeah, I don't know if you can still get it either.

I was under impression those bottles are not reusable?

they are absolutely reusable, just unscrew the top and fill it up with whatever you wish... i've been using a bottle with FK425 in it...

p.s. i've asked many many times, but i don't understand why no one has made a spray head like that for an ordinary empty spray bottle... i'm sure quite a bit of them would sell...

:iagree::whs:. The only bottles that I've ever had a hard time reusing are AW and Stoner's IG spray.
