Ultra high end wax

Wow 2600 and 7000 for car wax. For that kind of money you should just put a new coat of paint on the car, it will last longer and spend the money on something else. $100 is provably the most I would be willing to spend on wax. Besides $7K could make my car go awfully fast :D.

For 7 grand I'd rather buy a 99-02 camry than one that's older. With leather, of course.

Hey 2k, that ur car in the avatar? I've got a black WS6 01', getting tons of stuff from AG to do her up right. I can't wait to get two full days into her. Only thing is, these cars are infamous for their orange peel, I will live with it for only so long, before it will drive me nuts and I wet sand her.

P.S.---Like the smoothies, (or are they TTII's? hard to tell in the pic) thinkin about goin with them, but I'd like 'em even better in chrome.

Well sorta. I do have a black 00' WS6 but that isn't my car in the avatar. What is in my avatar is actually a drawing that I found online done completely in pecil, its actually pretty cool. I was looking for a drawing or picture of a trans am that I could use when I came across it. Except for the wheels It looks just like my car so I said what the hell. I still have the stock WS6 rims. When I'm done with school I might put some fiskes on it :D.

I actually detailed the bird over the Christmas break. I though it cleaned up pretty nice and I'm thinking of doing it again over spring break. Eventually when its no longer my daily driver I'm thinking of having it re-painted. Got quite a few rock chips in the front. The front bumper is covered with little white specs but they're only visible up close so I'll live with it for now. By the way I've seen some brand new Mercs and Bemmers with orange peel so I guess we don't have it too bad, but I feel you pain. What products are you planning on using?

Unless you win a lottery, $7k on a wax is just not a smart investment. The only way to make it smart would be to sell you refills, for like $100-150, 'till that wax pays off (I still wonder how often can you refill it), and then you start making some moey off it. But I would not try $7k wax, Zymol offers another for $2k+ something like that.
Just my $0.02.

I guess LOL

Well I thought you were pulling my chain since tree sap and clear coat really don't go together.

Although I go have to agree, it seems a bit outragous

Carnauba is a form of "tree sap" and goes quite well with your clearcoat:)

Not joking this time;)

2KLS1, that is fantastic for a pencil drawing!!!

I have the PC7424HD and am going to use the XMT line. I thought I could get away with just #2 and #1 but it looks like I'll be needing the #3, so I'm going to go with #3 on a green pad, #2 on an orange and #3 on a blue. May even use a fine glaze on a white pad if I'm convinced it has a finer abrasive than the #1. I've noticed a lot of people will go straight from 3 to 1, I guess for expediancy but I'll tell you why I'd rather not.

Years ago I used to do a lot of metal polishing, mostly stainless steel, and whenever I tried to jump and skip abrasives, the mirrored finish I was looking for was not nearly as spectacular as when I went through all the grades of abrasives, so I'm pretty much a believer in successive polishing. YES, it will take longer, but I'm WAY more concerned with the result than the time spent. This is my dream car, I've waited years to have her, and I don't detail professionally, so it isn't just some customers car. I plan on topping with Wolfgang and Souveran.

Good to know Mercedes and beemers also have orange peel, doesn't make me feel so bad.

Let me put it this way: $7k will take 2 of my credit cards away for good, and still have enough money to take my wife on a nice vacation... I think so far, Natty's is doing the best job money can get, and I only spent $14.00 on sale. And Excessive Detail was mentioning about the dude that uses the Zymol, well, he charges $5k for each detail. Nice, ah? 1 detail a month and I'm set! The rest can be vacations! Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN Yeah, like that's gonna happen to me...

Well, I was close... But thanks for clarifying this to me:righton:

But, in another note, if I tell somebody around my house that I can carge them up to that amount of money, I think they will try to kill me with a bow and arrow... I'm planning to start my weekend hobby business as soon as I get the pads somewhere around March...

I think the $7K wax would be a bit stupid, but if you can get free unlimited refills, then a $2500 wax wouldn't be that horrible if you do this as a business. I don't know how much a guy like Justin goes through, but if you were a younger person figuring to be in business for say 25 years. Then say you go through 3 containers of wax a year, then that would only cost you a little more than $33 per container. If it's a great wax, then I don't see a problem spending $33 on it. Plus I think a lot of the people that use the expensive Zymol stuff are able to get a nice extra chunk of $$ from their customers who want the Zymol.

Their essentailly the same, with maybe a few different polymers etc. An all-in-all superior wax.

I have tried both Zymol Itals, and the newer one is much brighter and very nice (recently changed red can to clear / wax looks almost cantalope in color). I got some that "fell" off the back of a truck, or so I was told. The original (red canister - light yellow coloring) was not even in Souveran territory. Zymol finally changed canister as some where selling the old (70.00) as the new (360.00). I would like to try Glasur due to its use of white carnauba like Destiny.

Zymol ... Titanium, Fantasy, Ital, and Destiny have all been tried. No better looking than Pinnacle (when price is considered they dont even compete) and uses montan and beeswax which does NOTHING for protection. Destiny and Souveran are nearly identical in outcome with a slightly darker edge on Souveran.

Swissol --- tried the concours wax about a year back. Nice wax, extremely expensive given its amount and ala carte pricing. Rumored to have shared formulas with Zymol at one time. Recently sued for breach of name.

Victoria Wax --- this "red" wax is nowhere near best in class. Infact, I would put it against Poorboys Natty Blue for an almost complete equal while saving you around 30.00.

Best in Wax --- would like to score a sample. Asked manufacturer but he declined. Wondering if it is a private labeling as some behind the scenes have noted.

I would highly suggest Souveran, CC 50/50, DP Max Wax, and Sig Series as great choices. Trade Secret is ok ... and still have not scored some Wet Ice by Blackfire. I know theres been more and still is. Soft99 Premium comes to mind as "not bad" and I would use of Zymols low line (carbon, creme) anyday.

I am going to have to respectffully disagree with parts of this statement. the big one being on VW. I personaly feel it is a much nicer wax then sovergien. It is esier to work with, lasts longer and gives a much deeper look.
havig said that, wax is a very personal choice and everyone is diffrent. so before you make judgment try it (killer i know you have).

Once again, it comes done to one's personal preference.

I have recieved more compliments from my customers from using NXT over anything else to date. When you do it for a living, you care what the customer thinks more than your own thoughts. Most of the time you are surprised!

I want to try some Zymol for fun, but I hear that it is much more of a garage queen wax. It can't hold up to DD duties.

My next order from AG will include Max Wax. I also want to try the CG 5050.

I am gong to point out here, its all in the prep. Depending on polishing, how clean the paint is and if any glazes are applied, I can make Meguiars Cleaner Wax look stunning.

To continue this argument on your opinion of a $xxx.00 wax vs a $xx.00 wax being Souveran, which honestly given the price point, a few layers of it Ill take any day. I doubt there is an easier wax to work with that is out today. If you had a wax that is much easier to work with than Souveran, itll buff itself off.

Can we please stop this my opinion is more shiny than your opinion. Enough is enough. Its not very good ethics to preach about a competitors wax on boards AG hosts and gives you discounts on their products for.
