Ultra high end wax

Right now I like CG 5050 the best, I've tried Souveran and Natty's Blue on darks and lights and never could tell a difference really, I gave a slight edge to NB for wettness but Souv had an slight edge in glow it gives, this was on lemans blue and carbon black M5's, but honestly they looked basically the same. On lighter colors couldn't tell anything. But for $15 NB is incredible for what it offers.

But CG 5050 seems to have both of their qualities, the wettness, glow, and darkening those two offer but it has a nice clear look if that makes sense. Think this is an excellent wax. What I'm curious about is Perfacar comming out with their new wax as they sold a relabled CG5050 but not anymore as they have their own custom wax comming out thats supposed to be very nice.

As far as the Victoria, Swissol and other high end waxes, I pry won't bother when you have Souveran/NB/CG5050, I'm not the type to buy dozens of waxes as I already have little time for detailing our own vehicles.

Wonder if there is actually a machine which can measure gloss and reflection. I seen in a video on Meguiar's site that they have one, but it does anyone else little good, since I would think they are just a tad bias.

One could always get out some painters tape, run a line or two down your trunk, door, spoiler, trunk, and try different waxes...should be glaringly apparent then...hehehe, just couldn't resist.

At least when it comes to looks, you would know where your waxes stand, as far as lasting, that would be hard to tell, but I don't think people here care much how long it lasts anyways, you know your all out there putting another coat on every chance you get.

Highest Priced Wax:
Souveran

Highest Quality Wax:
DP's Max Wax

Knowing that all that matters is what YOU think.........

PRICELESS!
Yep, add Signature Series II to that.

I would highly suggest to anyone with the time and money to try some high end waxes to do 1/2 the car and then 1/2 with Souveran. Asked anyone who did not watch to pick the best .... you will get either "they look the same" or "this side looks a little different (Souveran side)". When you offer the price they will offer to you the better choice.

As for waxes, none to date are easier to use than the Pinnacle twins. First they heat quickly with just a foamy (no need to use hands) and second they are removed damp. If you cannot move a towel over it and remove it (think dusting a table one stroke), your using much to much. They are however beauty waxes, durability is not the main concern (thus CM and SPW) as they are show winners or glaze type products.

I don't think there are machines that can measure to our definitions. Once you start exploring the immense amount of Physics & Chemistry, just the basic definitions of depth and clarity will make your mind wonder. Just use the product that makes best the appearance in your eyes.

+1 To what Killrwheels said.

I totally agree. People in general are always trying to impose their opinions on everyone else. I guess it's just human nature. So many things in we hear and talk about in life are just people's opinions. When it comes to things like which wax looks best there can be no right answer. Use what looks best in your opinion. If other people don't agree with you, don't worry about it because people aways disagree when it comes to matters of opinion.

100 bucks a pop !!

What do they claim about this wax that justifies the price?

It is only got from a very small forest of trees that no one knows about that grow on the dark side of the moon, the sap is released from the trees every seven years, so to pay for the flight, and the resulting limited quantity...purification, packaging and marketing...voila...$2699.00

This wax also lasts longer because of the limited gravitational pull of the moon.

And now try our new micro moonrock polish for only $5000.00 a bottle, you'll need all ten bottles in our product line to get a surface on your car smoother than the Hubble telescope's mirror. Now on sale for ONLY...$45,000.00 that's right folks, you save...five thousand big ones...so act now!!!
The secret to this polish is magnetiteiridiumoxidium, this substance is found in only one place on the dark side of the moon in a mere 700 mile square area, in a crater containing this precious substance, formed from a meteorite blast that took place 2 billion years ago, it is found nowhere else on the moon, so supplies are limited...GET YOURS NOW!!!

Coming soon, our secret alien formula sealer, that's right, on our last trip to the moon, we met with an advanced group of aliens that gave us the secret to how they keep their spaceship looking so shiny and free of oxidation, this is an exclusive folks, we are the only ones to carry this product, for a mere $100,000.00 you will have the best sealer in the Universe. It will outlast you, your car, our planet, the sun, our galaxy, time itself and will still be going strong!!!
:applause:

OMG ! I have to get my order in NOW before the sale goes off !!

And I was shocked at the price of P21S when I bought it years ago!!! That's the most I will ever spend on a wax..... even with a lottery hit. I'm not saying the higher priced ones aren't better but I doubt my old eyes could see the difference.

Well I have three waxes right now, none of which have touched my car yet, because I am going to polish it first. When the time comes, I will apply to the rear spoiler, NXT, Meg's gold class, and souveran, just for kicks, to see if I can tell a difference, to be fair, I think they should be viewed in direct sun, indirect sun, and at night, as well as the "next day" drying can change the appearance.

Maybe I will give CG 5050 a try later down the road. I already have 15 year wax supply, and am not planning to do very many purchases of carnauba wax in a near future (Maybe some more Liquid Souveran, and CG 5050 only).

What about BlackFire? Feed back please

I really like it, I used it on one my grandparents vehicles, but have no pics. I wanted to use it on my truck but it wasn't in yet when I stripped down. My truck is white and I love NB on it as it gives a slightly darker look to the white, but after seeing pics of Liquid Souveran I want to grab some of that as well sometime and try as it looks great on white. Maybe I'll do my biz partners new black IS with CG and post pics.

Between NB/Souveran/CG 5050 I don't see a need for any other wax really, I got my bases covered:D .

Don't know about Blackfire, I saw some on Autopia post pics and thought it looked good. Ask Scott, I think he has some, or at least ordered some?

I did not buy the Blackfire carnauba ... I feel that Terry really made a bad move after selling his portion of Souveran to Capt Max.

Maybe some of you know what that means, but i don't....

Terry and Max co-designed and co-created Pinnacle. Over the years Max put all the extra items into the Pinnacle line to expand it always looking to take it over. Finally Terry sells his portion, and within months offers a Pinnacle Souveran look-a-like. To make matters worse Terry actually used Souveran in its original ads and also pics. Tacky !!!

they actually do make a test machine to measure gloss....and I imagine it cost more than we would ever pay...but the best gloss meter is your eyes..what appeals to you is what you use...you can chase the perfect shine forever..and never find it..the shine that looks great to you is your perfect shine...

He basically used original Souveran formula to create a wax of his own, huh?
Then made it even more expensive by selling 7 oz container for $80.

ahhhh, now I see why Classic Motoring Accessories owned by Terry won't let AG sell their Menzerna polishes. Here is some dialogue from when I sent them an email asking why they don't let AG sell Menzerna. I didn't realize there was a previous relationship between owners:

Concerning our product lines and our distribution practices, please understand some of the products we create, manufacture, and distribute are sold via a select number of distributors. We, on occasion, add to that list as time goes on and we review current market demands. In the case of Menzerna, we are currently happy with our present distribution channel and the results we are achieving. This does not mean we will not consider other sellers in the future. We have the highest regard for Autogeek and we currently have a dialogue in process with them on this matter.

I want to get the gloss meter...then I will break it by using it on my car, the machine will be baffled and bedazzled and will ultimately fail not being able to compute the glossiness...Muhahahahahahaaaaa

Oh yea!!! Another shipment arrived!!!

Not to change the subject, but well I guess I am changing the subject...Has anyone tried the "shaped Q-tips" these things look like their gonna work great!!! I could have used these about a million times on all sorts of things in the past, glad AG carries them. You ever sit there trying to use a regular Q-tip soaked with some cleaning product and you have to get in a tight spot so you pull and twist into a point? Well these are already shaped to a point, and the other side is flattened. Couldn't ask for better than that. Got the Glass Master too, my windshield is really raked, very hard to get in their and clean it on the bottom where it meets the dashboard, this thing is gonna be the deal for that! Also got the Edge 4" pads. Wish me luck guys, I'm divin into this polishing thing. I can't wait!!! I've watched all the videos, read alot in this forum, I think I'm sufficiently armed, we'll see.

Supercharged .... we dont know if he used Souveran or its recipe as a basis. We do know that he put it in advertisements, and based on the law might have done something illegal. Wonder why it got pulled so quickly ??

Dengood ..... Menzerna and CMA struck some kind of a deal. As such we are stuck getting it from "other" sellers. Dont buy CMA, PM me and I will show you another distributor. Also note, several of the products, other than polishes, are likely just private labeled CMA creations. Id tell more, but it could get me in alot of trouble. Stay away from CMA !!!!
