IMO the gloss is less the product and more the polish. That said, I have found coatings deliver the best gloss that can actually be seen/noticed to my eyes. McKee's coating is great and while not the most hydrophobic, I find it's look fantastic. I ran it on my Audi for most of the time I owned it. I also love GYEON Products and am very happy with Q2Pure on my Infiniti.

Again however, the key is in the polish.

In addition to Souveran, I find SSII and McKees Trademark wax to be on the upper end of the gloss spectrum on a properly polished car. Agreed with the above statement - 90% of it is in the prep and polishing/jeweling.
