I could see using this on an Airplane, spaceship, or maybe a submarine... But on a car? How would you polish smaller panels? Just jamb it in there? I do not think this a a replacement for circular polishers.

Seems like it would burn paint (clear coat) right off any sharp edges on a car. I don't know if I would hire this guy to polish my car, but for my rocket ship - he'd be the first guy I'd call.

Maybe its a Canadian thing.

This would be awesome for RV's. Why on earn would anyone try to use this on a car??? Also, I wonder if it would still leave hologramish type marks with that wool bad and heavy cutting compound... Seems like there would be no way to finish out as well as a rotary or DA style tool.

A guy I know has a couple of them. He said it weighs like 18 pounds, so it just sits in his shop. No one will use it he said.

Interesting. Wool pad + unidirectional rotation = holograms.
Can't imagine compounding, it would bury the neighborhood under a dust storm.

Looks fantastic to use for huge boat decks.

These have been around for airplanes for years. There is a handheld buffer that is electric called Buffpro. I've been looking into getting one for my boat.
There are a few posts here about the Buffpro and I believe a couple detailers here have them.
