UPS Does it Again!

Bobby I am very sorry this happened to you, but at least these fine folks will take care of you :xyxthumbs:

I used to always use UPS personally, but recently started using Fed-Ex.
I am so close to Autogeek that my packages always look pristine, but when I see some of the pictures posted on here I can't believe how beat up the boxes are.

Autogeek; more returns from UPS!!

If this only happened during the Christmas rush I could "almost" look at it as accidental damage but this seems to happen a lot!!

I wonder how these things are handled?

It's "damaged" alright! It's just been re-routed to my house! lol

That sucks. I usually have at least one or 2 packages a year that this happens with. I swear it's the seasonal help they hire!

AH-HA!! I knew it!!

Jason, are you working part time for UPS intercepting Autogeek packages shipped to this area?

Meghan,

Maybe Autogeek should start shipping in boxes labeled CDC!!

Wow, maybe it's just the people that work in your area. I use UPS since Fedex doesn't really do much business around here. I've never had an issue with UPS or any of the delivery services (including USPS). Although, I have to admit, UPS has been delivering very late in the day like 6-7pm which is unusual but I just figured they changed the route (when you're expecting a package, it's killer having to wait!). Maybe you could call the local UPS store or whichever one it leaves from and talk to them about it. It seems like it was done at that site.

Luckily Santa's little helper Meghan is beyond amazing and fixed you right up! Question though, will UPS refund AG for the damaged goods and then pay to have new ones shipped? Otherwise, it seems like someone is getting screwed out of some money.

No worries we handle UPS on our end, they will make it right. But it's our job to take care of the customer so Bobby's replacement order is already on the UPS Trailer!

I think we need to keep her around for a long time. :dblthumb2:

All in favor? *raises hand*

^:dblthumb2: I'm raising both hands.

I've never had this problem with UPS yet so until then I guess I'll keep using them. I might try Fed Ex out because Fed Ex always comes around 9AM and UPS comes around 8PM

I been using UPS with AG since I joined, I never knew they use other carriers. I like Fedex more because packages gets to my house in the early afternoons. Compared to UPS which always comes around 6-7.

AG has never disappointed me thats why I always order from them! :props:

Sorry to hear that Bobby. Most of my stuff has come through ok but according to UPS's tracking info my last order arrived in Jacksonville, Fl at 6:18am on the 13th (2 days ago) and has not departed from there. I sent them an email to enquire and received a reply that it was in transit and on time so we'll see. The last package I received from them had the box damaged and all taped up but no damage inside.

For the most part, the majority of my shipments arrive pretty much intact. The products inside the cardboard boxes are so well packaged they'll withstand all but the roughest of handling.

When the shipments do arrive via UPS, the exterior portion always show signs wear and minor crushing to some degree but those precious detailing products are pristine and ready to use.

I've been doing business with Autogeek for 2 or 3 years now. Of all the shipments they've shipped, and there have been MANY, this is the first one that's damaged severe enough where some of the contents had to be discarded and the balance returned to Autogeek...

What I can tell you is receiving products from Autogeek shipped UPS is pretty seamless. Was this somewhat disappointing? Sure, but this is a lot more work for our friends at Autogeek....

Great products and pricing along with the best Customer Service.... That's Autogeek..:props:

Hit the nail on the head. I really can't describe their level of customer service. We can try to praise them as much as we want, but I don't think many of us can truly express the gratitude we have for AG. Simple things likek answering questions, or Nick walking through an order with someone so they get exactly what they need, the fixing of orders, etc. Nick called me a while back when I ordered a foam gun and they didn't have the size I ordered so he called and asked if the size smaller was okay. "sure not a problem!" Well he apologized MORE than was required. I understand these things happen. He threw in a few MF towels and a sample pack! I didn't need that Nick! (thank you once again btw!). Or the tour I got the other day is another example. Many businesses don't expose their innerworkings, but not at AG! They're well above every other business I've dealt with. :props:

You all are too sweet, we are very lucky to have such great forum members! :grouphug:

Experiences with shippers seem to vary considerably depending on where you live. One thing is universal, if you watch the tracking info FedEx Ground is on the move 24/7, UPS comes to a screeching halt every Friday around 5pm or so. FedEx Ground delivers on Saturdays too! I find both FedEx Ground and USPS Priority Mail get to/from the left coast in 3 days max, (no, not you Max, as you were!) UPS takes 7 or 8 days. Some find the signature requirement bothersome with FedEx. I have a signature waiver on file with all the shippers so they'll just drop it on the porch.

As stated many times on the forum we use UPS, Fedex and US Mail, just put a note in the comments box on which you would prefer us to use. We will ship it with whichever one of those you like.

Meghan saw my grousing about UPS taking so long to get to me from Stuart so she sent a couple of test shipments. (naturally, she couldn't ship empty boxes. Thanks again, Meghan! :)) FedEx Ground was here in two days, UPS took four. You wouldn't think it's a big deal but for whatever reason I frequently seem to place orders late on Thursday evenings. With FedEx I receive an end-of-week order the following Monday. With UPS I usually don't see it until the following Wednesday or Thursday.

UPS is the only carrier that has delivered damaged goods or notified me of damage in transit. I found a package waiting for me marked THIS SIDE UP in bright red letters on all sides complete with arrows. You guessed it, it was upside down with gallons leaking out. Fortunately, the driver had just dumped it on my gravel driveway in front of the garage door instead of putting it on the porch as he usually does. Undiluted Wheel Brightener leaking on to the porch probably wouldn't have made me very happy. :bash:

If you've ever seen a sort in progress there's a marked difference in management styles between FedEx and UPS. A UPS sort is mayhem, the supervisors are slave drivers and always on someone's case and basically treat their employees like crap, IMO. They sound like SGT Carter screaming "MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT". Boxes are getting thrown all over the place. It's interesting watching the words "FRAGILE" go flying by on the sides of boxes.

A FedEx sort is a more controlled mayhem... yeah, they aren't wasting any time but it's more choreographed. I used to spend my nights flying FedEx freight to an Intrastate sort facility and returning with more goods in the morning. I never saw packages thrown around and anything marked FRAGILE got special treatment. The supervisors weren't above pitching in doing the work either. It's a much more cooperative effort between management and the drones at FedEx. I can only attribute the marked differences in my shipping experiences to the marked differences in the corporate cultures.

When I ship I usually use Priority Mail, it's fast and cheap and you can schedule a pickup online. They deliver free boxes and packing materials to your door and postage is discounted when you do it online. My rural mail carrier is the one I actually see most often and know by name after a 16+ year relationship. He takes excellent care of me! :dblthumb2: One drawback to USPS is their tracking sometimes doesn't produce results until the package is delivered. :::shrug::: If I'm sending that's about all I care about anyway.

The other universal truth related to all of this is AG's shipping and Customer Service is without peer! :dblthumb2:
