Us vs the general public

I go to cruises and shows all the time with the Chevelle and see the same stuff. I get a lot of compliments on the Chevelle due to its paint and body work. My eye goes straight to the problem areas that I know is there and 99% of the people looking can not see. As far as the TW black detailer. I tried it and was not impressed. It streaked easily and turned my rags black. Before a big show or inbetween polishes, I use a glaze, usually Black Hole or Glossworks Glaze. Keeping a black car looking flawless is a lot of work.

I echo you all. Most don't care or don't see it.

I almost put one of my cards on a very nice Chrysler 300 Hemi, it had buffer holograms so bad, I swore I saw a baseball player under it and had flashbacks to my card collecting days.

My co-workers now say "What Would Aaron Do" as they wash their cars.....

At least they are thinking now!

I watch Chasing Classic Cars on Velocity and it kills me when Wayne goes to see a very rare and valuable Ferrari or something similar and the guy has it covered with a canvas or worse plastic tarp. Then they rip it off and set it on the floor! Probably put it back on after. I would imagine a car sent to Monterey or Pebble Beach would be detailed to the Nth degree by some top person in the field?

At my last job I noticed the next door neighbor had a newish black Porsche in the garage. There was one of those plastic storage totes just sitting on the roof of it. I almost barfed...

You'd be suprised. If you have an HD tv you'll see swirls like crazy on a lot of those concoure and auction cars. Many of those guys use the excuse, " we are trying to maintain originality." Apparantly that means swirls and scratches.

Haha! They'll be like " These swirls are antique, so we want to preserve them!" ROFL!
