I've received some Pm's regarding how to remove emblems and other plastic pieces that you don't want to ruin the part that your taking off the car or even doing damage to the car.So here is a tool called a bone tool i use them at work and at home for any part that needs to be removed and reinstalled.The tool is carried by SPX but you can go to any local Volvo Dealer and order it from them.Part #9814071

I am with Meghan on this if you need to covertly beat a metal detector to remove emblems it's perfect. Meghan I would of never guessed you did time in the slammer and knew how to make a SHIV. Hope your work release at PBMA / Autogeek is going well I am sure MAX is a teriffic sponsor. It's good to see you working yourself back into society !

BTW Griot's makes an excellent set that I use for under 20$.

For removing emblems that are on with trim tape I have used braided fishing line or dental floss. Just saw it back and forth between the badge and car. You can also use a heat gun.
 
Okay and now I am going to request a "How to" for the idiots like me out here in AG land that have always wondered how much work i was in store for if i removed emblems before polishing! I'd love to see what kind of things you remove and are these things something you must reattach?

I have read about "Debadging" a car when detailing but always felt a bit clueless about it all

I'd like to throw out a work of caution though on using any tool that pries the emblems off the paint. Anytime you use a tool to lift or pry an edge of an emblem, the opposite end of the label can potentially gouge into the paint depending on the size and shape of it, and especially the amount of overhang from the adhesive. While tools like this work great, just be sure to keep an eye out for this. ;)

Fishing line and dental floss is still a cheap and great way to cut through the foam adhesive backing too.

Not sure since i order them in a bag of 15 or 20 don't remember but i will give it a check.
