using a siphon w/compressor?

Recently I read somewhere that a guy used a siphon gun ($10 part) with some OPC to help clean at the beginning of an engine detail.
Anyone done this?
Pressure used at compressor?
Amount of product used (with any APC I'd guess)?
Results?

I'm very curious and thanking you ahead of time.

maybe a version that is for paint with a can that's full of APC 10:1
 
Actually 1-3:1 is probly more like it.
Maybe hole it sprays thru is smaller diameter for solvents and such.
Same cheap can-sprayer with bit larger orifice mite do ok.
 
I think I'll cover important items under hood and try the foam gun with APC (not foam cannon).
Let it dwell, rinse easy with my 3 gallon spray bottle (nice garden sprayer), focus on tough spots, dry, apply dressing.
